What is with Mancini and Man City, he's got 3, yes 3 holding midfielders in one team.
It maybe ok away from home but at home it's a bit excessive isn't it ?
Even away from home it's a bit much.
I'm probably being a wee bit jealous that we don't have one of them. Don't get me wrong Wilshere and Song as a partnership last night was brilliant but I think Song has the tendency now and then to be at the wrong end of the pitch for a holding midfielder and craftier teams will exploit that, like the Chavs and Manure.
It'd be fantastic to have a De Jong who just sits in he front of the back 4 regardless of whether we are 5nil up or nil nil and just breaks every thing up, with absolutely no desire to get forward unless it's for a set piece.
As defenders go, I think the SS18 and TV5 partnership might be a better one than with Koscielny as TV and Koscielny tend to bomb forward any chance they get, whereas SS18 looks like he stays put for anything but set pieces.

The only game of theirs I watched was the opener against Sp*rs, he played really poorly in that game, perhaps his performances have continued to be unimpressive?OnlyGotOneSong wrote:I'd be pretty pissed off if I was David Silva tbh. The lack of playing time for a player of that quality is disgraceful. They play 3 defensive midfielders but they still leak goals, nothing to be envious of.
Anyway it just goes to show you can have as much talent as you want, but if you don't utilize that talent in a way that works for the team's chemistry, you're not going to be a winning team.
