SUNDERLAND AWAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Leaving the office in 20 mins, get to Stevenage and train to Durham tonight. Should be drinking in the Fighting Cocks by 11pm and end up in the Love Shack.

Car home on sunday morning. Mackems away . . . .best weekend of the season.

It's lucky you're not dyslexic cos that sentence could get you in all sorts of trouble.

Drinking
Fighting
Cocks
End up
Love shack

Get that lot in the wrong order and your eyes'll be a watering!!

8.40am train from Benfleet tomorrow morning. Ridiculously up for this massive trek up north. Gonna smuggle back some Double Maxim back over the Essex border if I like it :barscarf:

2-1 to the Arsenal I think. We'll have to work for it though.

As for those of us travelling up who aren't in the squad... :drunk:

just played it out on Fifa..

1-1 with Arsenal equalising late through AA23, Chamakh hitting the bar with a header in the 90th..

CAN'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!! Hopefully the lads will pick up where they left on Wednesday.. although Sunderland away is a much more difficult tie.

12.30pm pick up at Newark, Notts.

Reet, I'm off to the pub and probably wont be back on until after the game- hope all those traveling up have a thoroughly enjoyable time (match apart like!)- and any of you who try out the Double Maxim, let us know what you think of it! Safe journey lads, hope you all manage to make your way back despite the ESPN bastards :barscarf:

Despite the misleading headline on the article, Steve Bruce seems to have been quite nice about Arsene.

Sunderland v Arsenal

Arsenal are in extremely good form and they seem to have got over the loss of Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott, but I think that will catch up with them sooner or later.

Sunderland have been a bit of Jekyll and Hyde side so far this season but they did well to get a point with 10 men last weekend against Wigan after losing midfielder Lee Cattermole so early in the game.

And Sunderland beat City last time out at home and I think they could get something from the game.

Prediction: 1-1
I see his point but the point with City, they are still trying to gel as a team where our team are a solid unit and that will be the difference i
think from the predicted draw to a away win, 2-1 Arsenal 8)

two new CBs one who has only been with us a couple weeks, clichy looked anything but sharp of late + keeper who tbh has done well so far but is due for one of his crazy mistakes, but midfield and foward I agree.
can we call Kos' header back against Blackburn the due error from our back 5? 8)

fair point about our defence whilst TV5 is out, but Squillaci seems pretty solid with his experience and Kos has done pretty well so far, no-ones perfect and he has made one error costing a goal and a couple of minor slip ups but ppl make mistakes, Almunia wil, TV5 will, Clichy will, it does happen.

Problem being when a defender or keeper make an error, its more costing and we all go mad about them; ok this will happen when we lose a goal but other players make errors all the time, Chamakh misses a header, Cesc misplaces a pass, Nasri gives the ball away in midfield, Theo runs into a cul-de-sac and gives the ball away...just for examples but as these dont cost us goals really, they go unseen by most and not raved about by the majority. If the defence makes an error and costs us a goal, its down to the team to come together and get 2 back, its a team game 8)

Am very happy that they look like being devoid of any real physical presence in midfield cos that is generally what fcuks us up on those away games. Am guessing that they will go more direct and have tbh and admit that facing gyan and bent doesnt exactly make me feel comfortable either :worried:

Overall I am predicting a close game with a 1-1 scoreline or possibly a 1-2 win for us
