Denilson's problem is simple - he is not a defensive midfielder full-stop. There is no way to say otherwise other than he is a completely incapable defensive midfielder. Add to that that he is thrid or fourth down in the queue in his better position which is not necessarily a play-ming midfielder but clearly an attacking midfielder and not even as sharp in thatb role as he needs to be and as good as he may be in the right role for the right team he is pretty useless to Arsenal, and after a terrific start showed that that is basically true again the last ten minutes of this match.IW8Goalmachine wrote:this is Wilshere's first season we'll see how well he gets on when he gets as much football as Denilson and then make a judgment.PI7ES wrote:Wilshere had time on the ball decided to do a trick and lost the ball, there was a simple pass out wide but he lost the ball, He is shit!!IW8Goalmachine wrote:no one is blaming him for today just stating that another shit performance and not good enough for Arsenal. just after he came on he intercepted a ball went on the attack, made an attempt to pass to sagna. he passed the ball and went in our goal direction with watching as he runs on ahead. it was a simple pass that most pro footballers should be able to do in their sleep yet he fucked it up. i have defended that man many times here but the fact is that he is shitPI7ES wrote:You guys just want to find any fault with him, wilshere's passing and losing of the ball was far worse i dont see anyone saying he was shit.IW8Goalmachine wrote: hardly superb, shit passing again and near the just let a player run by him on the wing.
Denilson did everything we needed in the midfield.
Fact is we panicked in the last minute of a game didnt defend a high ball and clichy kicked the ball against out our player.
Song sent off for about 7 stupid fouls.
Rosicky missed a pen to win the game.
Yet its denilsons fault?
Rediculous this place sometimes
Thats your logic, not that denilson came on when we had 10 men playing against 5 midfielders and dominated our 5 in the first half and turned the game in arsenals favour in which we took control until the last ten minutes when we decided to sit far to deep and encourage long balls into our box. Which they scored from.
As i said denilson can do no right in your eyes.

I'm not blaming Denilson alone for this result im just stating that he is not good enough for Arsenal.PI7ES wrote:Arsahvin gave the ball away on numerours occasions aswell, he shit aswell?IW8Goalmachine wrote:this is Wilshere's first season we'll see how well he gets on when he gets as much football as Denilson and then make a judgment.PI7ES wrote:Wilshere had time on the ball decided to do a trick and lost the ball, there was a simple pass out wide but he lost the ball, He is shit!!IW8Goalmachine wrote:no one is blaming him for today just stating that another shit performance and not good enough for Arsenal. just after he came on he intercepted a ball went on the attack, made an attempt to pass to sagna. he passed the ball and went in our goal direction with watching as he runs on ahead. it was a simple pass that most pro footballers should be able to do in their sleep yet he fucked it up. i have defended that man many times here but the fact is that he is shitPI7ES wrote: You guys just want to find any fault with him, wilshere's passing and losing of the ball was far worse i dont see anyone saying he was shit.

Nasri ran into the box and had about 5 seconds to pick out a pass took to long and lost the ball, is he shit ?
Did we or did we not take control of the game with ten men when denilson came onto the pitch for the not interested arshavin?
Fact is the defense sat far to deep at the end, nothing to do with denilson.
You aren't listening to what I am saying so therefore our argument is closed.augie wrote:They had possession and play was stopped for our player to get attention so you give the ball back to them. Why not ask how come we were not organised enough while we were waiting for play to resume cos you think that we needed even more time to sort ourselves out ? If we were the one's chasing the game and some opposition c**t kicked the ball out for a throw in down at our corner flag I would be fcuking steaming and I would suggest that I wouldnt be the only Gooner feeling that way either
I never mentioned the corner flag or anything like that. I simply said he should of played it to his left across the halfway line and give them a throw-in instead of a direct approach on our goal. That's hardly cheap but seeing as though you've continously aided your own argument by your perception - case closed.

Didnt get to see the game but listened on the radio, but i think from what i heard and have seen posted here i think it fair to make a couple points.
To be honest, i thought Song was lucky during the week not have picked up a couple of yellows for persistant fouling in a game that we were pissing, so it not really a surprise that it happened today. Refs also take persistant fouling into account when giving yellow - it isnt always just given for the incident the occurs at the time of booking.
I have never ever rated Clichy as a good defender - great at getting forward, but shite at defending - no surprise there either that he was left wanting at a critical time.
Why let a player take a ppenalty that is struggling to find form? Sure Cham was a better choice ?

We were never going to win the league mate, we dont know how to defend, its been the same old story for a few years, teams like Chelsea know how to kill ganes off, we however dont have a fucking clue. Still look on the bright side, its another point towards our target of finishing in the top 4Irish Gooner wrote:Fuck this, absolute disgrace.
No way we will win the league, the sheer volume of meltdowns and last minute goals we concede is disgusting.
I'm fucking angry as fuck at the couple of cocks that ALWAYS cost us.
I for one thought Nasri, Rosicky and Clichy were a fucking disgrace as usual.

streamed the game on the net and to be honest all that the mackems had to offer was get the ball wide and lump into the box, allardyce book of tactic's,and i thought we dealt with it well but our problem was we never kept the ball we just gave it away after every cross.Pissed off with song's lazy pass which could have made it 2-0 that went to the only mackem in 10yds of him, also showed that we need to get a mobile, intelligent D/M as today song was by-passed by quicker players and his clumsiness put unwanted pressure on us.Can't remember the ref's name but he was a FUCKIN JOKE!!!!did he have sympathy because of our lucky goal??because the blatant fouls not awarded us was disgusting and what was it with the extra, extra time...until there score is it.Again lost concentration at the end ,pathetic, missed pen...crap.Ah well there's always next week against WBA and the carling midweek forget it.
We were a few seconds away from grinding out a good win. Not stylish but we were doing what was needed until the very last second of the game.
I agree with AW that there are positives to be seen in this game especially the central defence which last season would have fecked up under that long ball pressure. The KosSqui partnership looks pretty good to me.
Sure, you can pick out some individuals for criticism but I thought we showed a different side to our character that has been missing in recent seasons.

Very tough match - thought until the very end the back four especially Koscieny were truely terrific and top class. I'm almost tempted to call Kos Ploish Tony though his clearing headrers aren't that authoritative but he makes just about every one - well forget that little bobble last week. He is very solid in the air which is what he is there to be. Squillaci I'm not as sure about but again did very well given the circumstances. Thought Sagna and Clichy had good not great games overall but did well uunder even more extensive pressure once we were down a man.
And props to Almunia. Again didn't show he's ready to be a new Seamn or Lehmann but dealt well enough with everything he had to and played sweeper on Squillaci's badly underhit back header splendidly when absolutley nothing less would do. Can't fault him much at all - even was able to get back on his line and keep out Gyan's header after misjudging the cross he was going to claim.
Midfield is much harder to assess honestly between the sending off and Cesc having to leave injured. We were subdued all over the pitch at the start really and it was no different in midfield but Cesc showed a classic example fo how you make your luck. Yes that go was in no way planned or calculated but it was Cesc working hard to press Ferdinand and charge that clearance down that made that happen. There should have been no reason for ferdinand to have to play it differently but Cesc went above and beyond and kept working and got the best possible reward.
I understood why Mr. Wenger brought Rosicky on as he worked hard and did fairly well in the center of the park both defensively and offensively though he lacks sharpness in his finishing - and I haven't considered that chance yet. As for that penalty - it shows we needed to have someone who'd taken a penalty out there. And since basically its Cesc then VanPersie then Arshavin in our queue of takers its hardly surprising Tomas didn't convert, though the manner of the miss would have been actually entertaining had it been 4-0 instead of 1-0. At 1-0 it was disgracefully wasteful.
Wilshere played well enough. He wasn't spectacularly good but then again he wasn't noticably poor by any means either. A good day for the lad really.
I think that decision was not just a bad decision tactically as we looked to be holding onto the ball very well and defending our lead by valuing that possession nicely, but it was an indictment of our defensive players in central midfield at that point. In Rosicky you had a player who can play that role but has been forced to play out wide in an attacking role. Denilson is an attacking midfielder forced to be a defensive midfielder. Neither are good enough to replace Song or even Diaby. If we simply had one quality defensive midfielder more we can play as we did priro to the last ten mintes and keep them stalled in the center of the park much more and keep the ball ourselves in their end that much more.
Up front Arshavin was Arshavin in-and-out of the match, mostly out today, but capable of tunng the match at any moment till he was taken off (bad mistake for me). I think he misses Cesc badly whne he isn't there. Nasri I thought was a bit better than I'm reading here. Again not brilliant but not a failure either. Though he came on well the last half hour before we got pulled back into our own area.
As for Chamakh he was terrific today in very a Kanu-esque manner. Was all over the pitch, and worked so hard to win and hold the ball all match which was absolutely essential after Song's sending off. He would have been man of the match for me unless you chose Koscieny, which would be a great choice too. There's more to Chamakh than meets the eye really.
But for the last minute it was a terrific day really.
