There is, in straightforward terms, no chance that Jack Wilshere will survive ten years, perhaps even five years, without suffering a serious injury caused by a foul tackle. There's just no way he will be able to survive the type of treatment his coming-of-age performance - which included two assists and a total of 139 passes at an average of one every 52 seconds - generated without suffering a serious misfortune further down the line. All credit to him for refusing to shy away from the ball even when his Fouls Won tally reached double figures at the Lane, but the depressing reality is that such bravery will inevitably come at a cost further down the line.

After falling out of love a bit with football in general this last few months watching Wilshere progress has very much rekindled my interest.

The kid is just a fucking baller. But it's true, some *word censored* is going to end up wrecking him.

Amazing stats. A pass every 52 seconds. Fuck.

While the media in this country applaud "committed" (aka, shit) tackling, we will never win anything as a national side.

Wilshere is the sort of player a serious international side like Germany or Spain would be building their side around.... in England, we reward the likes of Pulis for sending animals out to savage him.

He seemed to get the brunt of the bad tackles last night but not once did I see him complain. He got back up an carried on and we all no Jack can put it about when he needs to anyway. Unfortunately, the peice from football365 is accurate but some players just get lucky and get away with it.

He is going to be a wonderful player, I haven't seen his kind of desire since a certain young Cesc Fabregas burst onto the scene,

last night was a prime example of his commitment, not once did he shy away from a challenge, showed maturity way above his years. He was still chasing and putting the spurs players under pressure right up until the 120th minute, this is on the back of 90 minutes up at Sunderland a couple of days previous. Passing ability is superb and if he could get the odd few goals a season we have a complete player, hope Rambo comes back in a better mental state than poor old eddy and we'll have a bloody good midfield to our disposal

He's certainly got the ability to score goals (probably an Arshavin-sized amount), but he's been playing deeper to accomodate Cesc. If Cesc does go, Wilshere will take his position as the most advanced midfielder and will be even more effective.

To be fair, I think we can all acknowledge that we knew Jack will be a special player. He always was a tough nut too and I wanted him to stay at the club last season, but AW in his wisdom sent him out on loan. At the time I felt it wasn't a good decision, but in hindsight, I think it actually worked in our favour. The lad has come back even tougher.

But seeing those knuckle-draggers trying to kick every shade of red out of him had me really worried. I got to a stage when I really felt they were targetting him(how the fuck were none of those crunts red carded?). Fair due to him, he took it in his stride, didn't lose his temper and got on with the game.

But that should be beside the point. We all say we hope that one of those Shawcunt tackles happen to an established Ingurland player, to make a point to the media, but I just hope Jack isn't the one that's going to suffer that ignomanity.

The other point I feel I should make is about the penalties given too. The media just fed off that crap didn't they. The first was a peno, even though Nasri went down easily, his shirt was tugged and his heel clipped. The second was a stone-wall peno. Funny how the same "experts" can't seem to see that midget oirishman off side but can come up with their bullshit about soft penalties

Anyways.....sorry to ramble on, but if that crunt didn't score his off-side goal, and the ref and linesman got their calls right, we wouldn't be chatting about "soft penalties".

It just made the drama better though.

He's quite a lot in the Paul Scholes mould of player. Great vision, passing, work rate, and is as tough as old boots.

That said, Wiltshire is a much better tackler than scholes. And not Ginger.

Im surprised no more than been made of Spu*s thuggish mistimed tackles during the game. They were a fuckin disgrace imo. Not able to get the ball so take out the man.

the referees aren't going to do anything about it, but players can take matters into their own hands.

when shawcross goes to ground, say for a 2 footed studs up challenge, he leaves himself very vulnerable. if the player he is trying to foul jumps out of the way who is to say where he lands, he might "accidentally" plant both feet in shawcross' face.

if enough players like shawcross start getting carried off the pitch with skull fractures maybe they'll get the message.
