We should go for the Carling Cup this year..

considering Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City got kicked out last night, I think it would be perfectly reasonable for us to consider to go SERIOUSLY for the Carling cup. It's up for the taking imo

I want the Carling Cup every year - unlike many Gooners who think its nothing worth winning it is still something that counts as a cup.

I'm hoping we have a nice run to the final while United face the likes of Stoke, Villa and Newcastle.

When the Spuds won the CC two years ago every Gooner to a man called it the Worthless cup and took the piss out of them for making such a meal of winning it.But now its a big trophy .We really are desperate arent we?

As long as we avoid united and get a few nice home ties I can see us at least getting to the final and I would certainly take this competition seriously. If it's good enough for the likes of united and chelsea when you see their recent history in this competition, it's good enough for arsenal!

I understand that it is a shite trophy but it will piss of the press, as they will have to retire thier "won nothing in five years" line.

But more than that - the players will get a boost before the run in to the prem [if we are still in the chase], which could help them.
