THE MIND OF A WENGERITE
THE MIND OF A WENGERITE
I just don't get them, they will have a crack at numerous players in the team, but simply will not attribute any responsibility to Wenger.
They are like battered spouses, who see no fault in their agressor.

I wanted Wenger out the season before last but some Gooners said he deserves to see his contract out for all he has done for the club and to judge him at the end of last season.Result Wenger gets a new £6m a year 4 year contract. He is a manager who is under no pressure to win trophies. So the project continues. Will someone at the club have the balls to tell him he's wrong

Agreed - I love what Arsene has done for our club but it's not just the keeper.mrgnu1958 wrote:i love Arsene wenger and i dread the day when he leaves.

Eboue and Diaby were absolutely SHIT today - they might as well have put blue & white striped shirts on. And Arshavin - brilliant on Tuesday, looked like he couldn't be arsed today. Playing with the handbrake on?? Playing with 8 players more like!! They seem to think that teams like West Brom should just fuck off and allow us to showboat our way to 3 points.
When the 3rd goal went in, Arsene just stood there. Didn't say a word to anyone, didn't call anyone over to pass on tactical information or instructions where to make the changes that were so desperately needed.
I was sat right behind him and couldn't help wondering why he's so quick to leap on the 4th official time and time again but slow to remonstrate with his under-performing players.
Could say that of those who beieve the situation will change if the Board doesn't choose to change it - even with a new manager.TeeCee wrote:Denial Sid, they think that as long as they deny there are issues, all will turn out well. However, the facts of the last 5 years prove there most definitely are issues and the responsibility all rests with one arrogant, stubborn man - Arsene Wenger.
What will you say if the new manager is Tony Adams and he starts on why we shouldn't spend more than we are or simply doesn't spend more than we are even if he talks the talk?
Talk fucking sense US do you really think tony adams would be appointed manager.USMartin wrote:Could say that of those who beieve the situation will change if the Board doesn't choose to change it - even with a new manager.TeeCee wrote:Denial Sid, they think that as long as they deny there are issues, all will turn out well. First off you believe the lack of and the lack of quality in that team in comparison to 1998-2005 are purely coincidental? I think its fair to ask for a yes or no answer given how absolute your statement was.goonersid wrote:Talk fucking sense US do you really think tony adams would be appointed manager.USMartin wrote:Could say that of those who beieve the situation will change if the Board doesn't choose to change it - even with a new manager.TeeCee wrote:Denial Sid, they think that as long as they deny there are issues, all will turn out well. Or you suggesting the quality in the team now and since 2006 is no less than from 1998-2005?
As to whether Tony Adams would be the next manager its a far greater likelihood than a genuine top manager as a top manager would demand the money the money the Board keeps saying is avilable and would insist we pay our players more like clubs like Chelsea and Man City do. Not as much as they do but the days of having overpaid teenagers and world class stars on 90K a week would be over.
Only if the Board have completed whatever it is they are or not doing with these profits will they attempt to get a manager they would have to back financially as a top manager would expect to be.
Otherwise at least signing Adams would keep the people in denial happy as they could get behind good old Mr. Arsenal. And since the Board would keep pressure off him for top-four football they'd all be happy then.
I'd bet my house that Tony Adams or ANY other Premier league manager that had the resources that Wenger has available, would not have Coco or Flappy at the club, let alone in the first team. That's why a new manager would be fantastic, regardless of who it is, because they would not have blind loyalty to Wenger's below average crap that he loves to populate the team with. What will you say if the new manager is Tony Adams and he starts on why we shouldn't spend more than we are or simply doesn't spend more than we are even if he talks the talk?

What puzzles me almost as much as Almunia is that we seem to have absolutely no tactical plans in place whatsoever, simply an over-reliance on keeping the ball and outscoring oppo.
This is obviously great when it works but when AW won the double in 97/98 we were able to sucker opponents into our half and then quickly counter attack, the like of Overmars and Anelka reaping the dividends.
GG was a fantastic tactican and very versatile, able to apply different tactics and game plans to suit opponents.
If our beautiful game dont work we're fucked, simple as that
