Enough is Enough

Post by frankbutcher »

Not a controversial statement in itself, but this Club is now one of the biggest laughing stocks in the League. The Club is nothing short of being a circus. When will this madness cease? Can the downward spiral be stopped? My blood literally boils watching our group of over-paid, egotistical prima-donnas. The cause of this mess - Wenger. The guy has lost all respect amongst his peers, but even worse, he has lost the respect of the players. They simply don't play for him anymore. Look at Arshavin, Diaby etc. Even more worrying is his relentless persistence with the shit-*word censored* we have in goal. And the effect of this - he's lost the squad, because if Wenger can't see that they're costing us games, then what's the point in putting in the effort, because however hard you defend, however hard you try to put a good run in the league together, it will inevitably be flushed down the toilet by the waiter or flappy.

Just think what last year's implosion at Birmingham did for team morale. Look at what Al did on Saturday. Do you know what - I don't actually blame the players. Arshavin has clearly been fed lies to get him to the Club. "We will compete." "We will win trophies." It would be like accepting a job at Waitrose and then finding out you've actually joined Lidl.

This madness will only end if Wenger pops his clogs, because he ain't going to be sacked. The JCL shitcunts that inhabit the Emirates think the sun shines out of his arse, when it doesn't. He is steering this Club into oblivion. Wenger KNEW, but not anymore. He is dismantling this Club quicker than he ever built it.

Just watch us when we finish outside the top four...it will be like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

You have been warned... but to be honest those that can see the madness don't need to be warned, and those that can't see it never will, even when it blows up in their faces.

To be honest, at the moment I'd settle for a new keeper.....

It is absolutely unforgivable that everyone and I mean EVERYONEknows that this is our main weakness. And yet Wenger is too stubborn to do anything about it. How fucking embarassing that we were quibbling with Fulham over probably a few hundred grand difference in the valuation of Schwarzer......when our need is so desparate!

If we had Given in goal (for example) then the improvement and confidence would radiate through the whole team....

Do you work for Talksport Frank? Stirring it up? :D

We are far from a laughing stock.
Many envy us both on and off the pitch.

A new goalkeeper and defensive midfielder would work wonders, both are obvious weaknesses, add too a defensive coach and it would be great.

Without these we will likely finish 3rd/4th in League and reach last 16 of Champions League.
Not enough for many, but far from disaster or humiliation.

But it ain't going to happen is it? We've known we are 'just a new 'keeper and a defender....short' for how many seasons? Wake up mate. It's NOT going to happen. We are getting worse, not better. We're now two keepers, two CBs, a DCM and an out-and--out striker short.

EVERYBODY CAN SEE OUR PROBLEMS - EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

APART FROM ONE MAN - THE MAN THAT COUNTS.

HE HAS LOST THE FUCKING PLOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Just an aside Frank, but if you were my age you would know that money "comes and goes". You might be Mr Corporate success right now and good luck to you if you have worked hard, but in this economic climate that could vanish at a drop of a hat).

To be honest, I'm struggling to find anything new, or even vaguely interesting, to say about Arsenal anymore.

We've stagnated.

There's nothing new to say about the 'keeper situation - we know he's shit, everyone knows he's shit, but he's here to stay... and he even captains the side on occasions.

We know, and have done for years now, that Van Persie, Theo, Diaby, and a hundred others, are injury prone, so what more can we say?

We know, and have done for years, that we don't defend properly; that we don't show enough respect or discipline in defence... but that shows no signs of changing, so what more can we say?

And, of course, despite this team having won fuck all, and having EVERYTHING to prove, they still lack focus and discipline for a league game against West Brom, despite a massively important 3pts available?? :? - it's insane. There's no way in the world we would have played like that against Barca or ManUre, and that attitude stinks. The worst thing we did was smash Braga 6-0, and take all the plaudits that came with it.

It's nothing new anymore. In fact, it's boring. It's stagnant.

I've seen enough this season to know that nothing's changed. The West Brom performance, and the attitude that came with it, told me everything I needed to know.... we'll bounce back, but that mental fragility that makes this team believe their own hype continues to undermine it's potential - the West Brom game showed that. Also, the inability to defend (and the desire to defend) will undermine the teams potential... and, of course, when all else is on track, then the 'keeper (whichever clown is in goal) will always chuck a spanner in the works...

The West Brom told us all we needed to know - we've stagnated. I would say it's Groundhog Day, but that's unfair on Bill Murray and a damn fine film... at least that had an end in sight... whereas Wenger has only just signed up for another 4 years!

I know this all sounds negative, but there are MANY positives, and this team is quality... but how many years can you make the same mistakes? and how many years can you put up with the same shit? - it's bizarre.

I think everyone can see the problems, but no one can see the symptoms and thus the solutions.

The problem with the idea that things will change when simply the manager leaves ignores the fact that the reason he isn't kleaving is because clearly the people who employ - yes the Arsenal Board - have been benefitting and continue to benefit from the strategies employed in assembling this team and in dis-assembling the previious team.

The simple truth is no matter how you look at it the fact the Club has made much more money and the Board have benefitted from it as the team's quality has been diluted steadily since 2005 is simply not coincidental or circumstantial.

At best the Board have sat by and let Arsene Wenger destroy the Invincibles and replace them with the Inferiors because it benefitted the holding company and them personally. At worst the Board have instituted financial policies and constraints that gave Arsene Wenger little or no alternative beyond what he has done. Either way only the Board can correct the course we are on at this time, and clearly they feel no need desire or pressure to do so at this point, and haven't since 2005

If, as Augie suggested earlier today, we all are united as Gooners in at least our desire to see Arsenal Football Club be more successful, shouldn't we look at what the problem really is and then maybe how it can be solved if indeed it can?
