Sadly but we are missing TH

Post by delgooner »

Morning Gang

I know earlier on in the season we all thought that we werent going to miss Mr Henry but watching us lately we dont seem to have anybody up front who can consistently stick the ball in the back of the net, take Saturday that was a penalty. I just wonder why Le Boss hasnt gone and bought a proven goal scoring forward cos we're not short of a few bob. We cant rely on RVP as he seems pretty injury prone, I just hope he's not going to be a glass ankle player. I dont know if Theo is gonna get any better, he just cant seem to get it together somehow. Abe is ok but he's left on his own all the time. Well what do you lot think.

IMO we are missing a few crucial pieces to make this a title winning team and a few of us have said so for a few months now. That said henry is NOT one of the pieces we are missing and apart from everything else he is not exactly "mr flying fit" anymore either is he ? Anelka would have been a snip at £15m and would have made a world of difference to our team but instead we will have to look on as he drives chavski forward instead  I am getting fed up of wenger claiming that he considered buying this player or that player(anelka & barbietov are the latest names) cos quite clearly he aint going to sign bugger all and the while we will slip away losing crucial points like we did on saturday. Never mind we will have a great team in 2/3/4(delete as applicable) years time

I fear that you may be right about RVP. He is prone to injury and glass ankle syndrome.
Although I take your point about Henry being a proven goalscorer I think you have to look at the overall effect he had on the team. Cesc, Hleb and Ade have blossomed since his departure to dramatic effect.
Now, if we could have an Henry playing in this team without the negative effect on the others then fantastic.
We need to sign a proven centre-half before we worry about another goalscorer.

I agree with you spudmasher about the need to buy a centre half and pref one that can head the ball when it is launched down at us buy without being greedy I believe we also need a top top keeper and striker ahead of that position. 3 signings I hear you say - we will be lucky to get 1

The first time that there is a bit of a wobble and the "Tel" shouts come out again. What a great player but still had his mardy arse games when nothing was good enough for him, but also he DID miss chances the same as everyone else. We will come good again but lets not hit the panic button just yet as we are second top!!!!!
Besides the spuds have all the work to do to finish fourth as "they" are the top dogs of north London......
Keep the faith.

Definitely miss the 2004/5 Henry but not the 2006/7 Henry. Also miss the 01/02 Vieira and the 97/98 DB and the 88/89 Rocastle and the 86/87 Groves!!
