The only defamation / libel case that has been won by a company was when there was a willful aim to destroy/damage a company by several postings about a subject on a forum. I can't see any evidence of any willful postings on this forum repeatedly aimed at destroying the Sportfirst buisness model.
I would suggest that if these trips are successful, this posting/forum will actually have boosted Sportfirst's business, not damaged it.
On a final point, whilst posting this I was notified that one of my best friends mum's has lost her battle with cancer. Some things are important in the world, but the dispute over the past 10 pages is clearly not.
Don't know if you have heard mate but about 700 hotels have started legal proceedings against trip advisor because people have posted negative reviews which have harmed the reputation of those hotels.

Have looked on tripadvisor before, and always taken it with a pinch of salt. I just always assumed that there may be someone with a grudge, a rival or someone who is over-sensitive or purposely malicious.

I do use tripadvisor but like others have said with a pinch of salt. I checked out a review of a 4* hotel I was going to be staying in this summer and the reviews were pretty bad saying it was more like a 1*. When I got there it was absolutely fine. I guess one persons bad experience might not be somebody elses.

Fair play to the guy for the offer he made but having read goonerchief's report on his experience using the company (on the main page), there seemed far too much need for exchanges of e-mail and follow-up phone calls for my liking. Just my personal opinion. Still, if goonerchief was happy and Christie gets extra business from the experience, good luck to them.

Dunno if the humour just completely passed me by (in which case ) but if not, bit of an odd & ott response. A couple of Gooners, on one site, questioned the legitimacy of your business. Fair enough you didn’t take kindly to that, I can totally understand that. But other Gooners, on the same site, either gave you the benefit of the doubt and/or stood up for your side of the argument. Some even took up your offer & did business with you. So why would a couple of people’s relatively meek comments about you stop you wanting to do business with the tens of thousands of other potential Gooner customers out there? Genuine question, not a criticism. Just seems a bit of a self-defeating way to do business. If a couple of tottingham fans suggest your prices are too good to be true will you have had enough of them & move on to Chelsea, and then on to West Ham, Fulham…?
