We should go for the Carling Cup this year..

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I think someone mentioned on 1 of the threads somewhere about sky only showing us in the carling cup if we are away from home hoping we lose well our game against newcastle live on sky oct 27.

You can't underestimate the boost it would give the players as well. I remember Ferguson saying that their beer cup win in 06 was like a springboard to bigger things and they haven't looked back since.

The thing is even if we win it, they'll bang on about 'Arsenal have only won the Carling Cup in the last 6 years'

As a fan i would love us to win, have a piss up at Wembley, see the kids pick up a cup! Fuck yes , why not?

End of the day were a keeper away from winning anything else so sadly the beer cup is the most we can manage.
This is down to one man....

I would love to win it, think there is a realistic chance now with a lot of the favourites having already gone out. If we can get through this tie against Newcastle which will be tough and avoid Man Utd and Stoke/Burnley away then things look good.

By the way I heard a lot of S**rs fans say that 'It's only the Carling Cup'...well if that's the case then they've won nothing in nearly 20 years...mugs
