Couldn't agree more. He was abysmal against WBA, losing posession cheaply, providing zero cover for Clichy and looking as if he'd rather be somewhere else. So frustrating because we all know he's quality when he shows some interest!!!!!
Agree completely about Arshavin being a lazy bastard but the way we’re set up to play I don’t think the onus is, or should be, so much on him to provide cover for the full-back. He’s essentially meant to be part of a front 3, not a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1. No question he needs to do more defensive work (doing any would be a start) but more so in terms of closing players down higher up the pitch.

Providing cover for the FBs should be more the responsibility of Song and/or the other more defensive CM (Jack/Diaby/Denilson). If Song stopped buggering off up the pitch all he’d have to do is trundle left or right depending on what flank they were attacking down & hey presto, problem solved. The other CM then drops into Song’s central role in front of the back 4, Cesc/Nasri into the space they’ve vacated & so on & before you know it you’ve got the beginnings of a defensive shape. The FBs being exposed is Song's fault, and Wenger's for not hammering that point into his wasp's fanny of a head.
I dont understand what PR or AW do on the sidelines, we are in the stands and we are all thinking Song get back in position yet no one is shouting that to him from the side of the pitch. Simple discipline would cut out most of the sloppy goals we give away. Comes down to the same thing of no leaders on the pitch.
Well any time the camera cuts to the bench it seems Wenger’s whispering sweet nothings in Pat’s ear that make him say “yesâ€

We also need Song to stay in position.
Agree with that, his role should be to just sit in front of the back 4 and provide them with protection

Sorry I ahd to because I can never just tell them to f'off and last time I actually ended up signing up only to cancel once I got home. It helped that the chugger that accosted me was seriously good looking.

Explains how Rooney got caught out,it's quite hard not to hand over money to a good looking woman...I draw the line at £1200

Problem is, Wenger will play Diaby, he always does against teams he views as 'Physical', purely because of Diaby's size which is a joke because he's as hard as an impotent cock. Chelsea are the 'biggest' squad in the league so Wenger will shit himself along with our goalkeeper for the day (whoever it is). Anyone who thinks we'll get anything from this game is mad, complete home banker with Drogba to score.

You're probably right, and we're certainly huge underdogs at the Bridge, BUT not everything goes as expected, so you have to hope Sunday is just one of those days.

Sadly, I've seen enough already this season to know we haven't progressed enough to be genuine title contenders. We still concede far too many, and too easily... we still have an error prone 'keeper... and the injuries keep piling up; it's basically deja vu all over again.

I'll go for a draw. 1-1.

For what its worth and assuming that fabregas and vermaelen haven't recovered I'd go with

Fabianski
Sagna Squid Kos Gibbs
Wilshere Song Diaby
Nasri Cham Arshavin

Not that it matters, we're gonna get bummed whatever team we put out :proudtosay:

No doubt, Chelsea are in fine form this season. They're looking really good and one of the last things we need now after a 3-2 home defeat to west brom is a game against them at stamford bridge. Nevertheless this could be our chance to get one back on them for what they'v done to us in the previous seasons. It has not been pretty, the 4-1 and 3-0 batterings still haunt my nights. In many of the games we actually did play the better football, yet we lost because of their solid finishing/ conversation rate. This time WE need some penetration. An early goal could rattle them, whereas an early goal conceded could mean a long game.

I agree with the defensive approach though, even though its not our usual style of football. Keep the drog out and i reckon we are in with a great chance.

I’d probably go for the same. Although I’d genuinely consider dropping Diaby & playing Lansbury, as much as it may possibly backfire.

I actually think Walcott’s a big miss for this game too. Not just cos of his surprisingly good start to the season. Just think his pace on the right would stop the Blackberry-bummer bombing forward at will.

That's a terrible midfield, and they'll be lucky to get back to North London with their bumhole intact. :(

Not disputing that, but what's the realistic available alternative?
