ARSENAL TV

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

First day was free. I've no vested interest but Setanta is good value anyway for Premier League games and if Arsenal TV can keep up last night's standard for me it's definitely worth the money. Hopefully though as One Keown pointed out, we won't reveal too much to the opposition. And it shows Arsenal are a truly big club - whatever that really means...

I have to say that while others on this forum have dissed the channel in advance I have been looking forward to it 8) Sometimes living in Ireland I feel too detached from all things Arsenal and am hoping to see as much of our reserves and kids as possible. I have been lucky that for the past several months I have this forum and all my friends here (  ) to keep me sane and this will just help keep me going in between my trips over to thof. Would prefer though if the question & answer programme was on a bit later in the evening/night and it is baffling that is goes off our from friday evenings to monday evenings which I thought would be the time of maximum interest :? Am keeping my fingers crossed that they show the recent game v chavs soon as I still aint seen it on tv

Agree with you Augie i dont think it will be as bad as lots of members have said here. I thought it was good last night and now im trying to persuade my wife that another tenner is needed on the sky subscriptions :)

Augie - the debate is due to be repeated later this week. Not sure about which match repeats will be shown - I watched most of the transmission but didn't pick up on that but judging by other club Setanta channels you stand a fair chance. Stopped short of another re-run of Birmingham highlights as I couldn't bear to watch that in-off Cesc yet again!

My gripe with Setanta isn't about the quality of its coverage, commentators etc. Its that viewing it via Freeview means that you only get 1 channel, whereas via Sky you get 10.... That means I would pay exactly the same subscription (£9.99) but get no Arsenal TV amongst other things. They described the 1 channel as like a highlights package made up with the best bits of the full 10. But they don't even guarantee that all of their 46 Premier League games will be on it....

So I suspect that most of those able to access the obviously excellent ( ) Arsenal TV , will already have Sky Sports and were already getting much better coverage of the gooners than the rest of us (albeit at considerable cost).

So I'm not slagging Setanta. I'm just a tight fisted bastard who's jealous of the rest of you...... !!!

MKGOULD,

CAN'T YOU SUBSCRIBE TO SETANTA IF YOU HAVE A FREEVIEW BOX?
IF THE ANSWER IS YES, THEN SURELY THEY WOULD INCLUDE ARSENAL TV AS PART OF THE PACKAGE? :? IT'S CERTAINLY WORTH ASKING ABOUT.

AS FOR VIRGIN USERS (LEAVE IT LADS!! ), I THINK REBEL STATED EARLY IN THIS THREAD THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE ARSENAL TV IN DUE COURSE, ONCE THEY HAVE SORTED OUT SOME 'TECHNICAL' PROBLEMS.
