How do you get a PS3 online
This really might be a stupid question. But can anyone tell me how to get a ps3 online. I have virgin and its hardlined to a wireless router. I plug the ether net cable inthe back and it doesnt' connect. I've been otold that it will do this automatically (detect settings) but it does not. When i go to the auto detect settings option it says it can't and i have to consult some other shit. surely this should be as simple as a plug and play type thing.
cheers geeks.

I had a brain lapse when I moved house recently and couldn't figure how it connected. I thought I was a cable short.12thGooner wrote:This really might be a stupid question. The PS3 is has a wireless connection.
All you should have to do is go the the settings and 'pair' your wireless router to the PS3.
Should be able to get the PS3 to scan for the router then enter your security (WEP) keys.

Hope this helps.
You need to sign up to PSN. On the menu, over towards the right and there should be an option for Playstation Network or something. In there you should be able to sign in, or create an account if needed.
I'm at work right now so this is pretty vague. I'll be home in an hour and I can check exactly how to do and I will let you know.

He can only do this (if I remember) once he has connected.paperclip wrote:You need to sign up to PSN. On the menu, over towards the right and there should be an option for Playstation Network or something. In there you should be able to sign in, or create an account if needed.

Good question though, what are you trying to do? Connecting to a game or Playstation network (PSN) or simply setting the PS3 up in the settings?
