ATTENTION: Online Gooners!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hello Holly! Did you know I'm quite handsom?

Anyhow here are my words of wisdom for you to ponder over!

1. What is your online name? If it is different to your real name then why is this? What is the reason for your username?

My real name is Augustus Celestine Fandango Legend Ceasar. I shortened it for this forum as most of the people on here do not understand that Phil is short for Phillip and Wayno is short for Wan....

2. What does it mean to you to be a football fan? I.e. buy the shirt, go to the games etc

It means enormous expense with no guarantees of pleasure! Birmingham game at the weekend being a prime example. Yes I buy a shirt and yes I buy the odd other bit of various tat Arsenal thrust my way but I think being a fan is a personal thing.

3. Why did you join the forum?

I was paid too.

4. One could argue that being a real football fan has nothing to do with the internet, you cannot support a team online, do you agree?

Please refer to Redtube.com FC

5. Do you think the definition of being a football fan has changed? I.e. can support a team online, do not have to go to the games to be a fan?

Don't be so silly! The internet is for pornography!

6. Has technology changed the definition of being a football fan?

Not really! Nothing beats going to the game.

7. Has technology changed the way you interact with Arsenal and the relationship you have with them?

Yes, daily I send an abusive email to Eboue and Senderos.

8. Would you say you are less of a fan if you support Arsenal online, I.e. interact with other fans online rather than at the pub or at Emirates?

Depends. If you are in another country then no, if you are in Finsbury Park then yes.

9. Do you go to the games and have a shirt?

Yes I do and I also have some pants.

10. Would you agree that some people join the forum so they can be a fan without buying into the club this way I.e. they choose to show love of club through online fan community rather than buy shirt and tickets to the game?

Yes I do. Rebel is a prime example of this as is Stearmaster. He just has a poll fetish and uses this place to get weird thrills.

11. Is the issue of consumerism in sport important to fans? E.g. ticket prices, shirt prices, travel costs to games, being a fan now can be considered to be expensive.

Yes it can be but I find that old ladies carry more cash on them these days so Ihave not been affected to badly.

12. Do you think that if some fans find supporting a club offline is expensive that they choose to show their love for their team online as a way of saving money?

I have no idea! Did you know though that the Indian National Railway employs over 3 million people?

13. Is having unofficial fan sites and online forums improving the football fan experience? I.e. it gives you an alternative outlet at which to enjoy supporting your team. If so, how?

Yes, unless your talking to One2Smooth.

14. What is your opinion on Arsenal.com? Does it offer fans a decent online experience?

Bunch of chunts!

15. Would you say because Arsenal.com has directly links to the club it is out to make money rather than provide fans with a decent online experience?

I would say as it is linked directly to the club it will try to replace the joy of decent signings with news of financial success!

16. Does the website/forum offer you more in terms of a social experience? Would you say the forum provides you with an online community? If so how and why? E.g. the members made you feel welcome or design was simple and laidback making it easy to interact.

I have real friends you know! I would say you have your statement above the wrong way round! The members are simple and the design is laidback.

17. When you first joined was it easy to join in the different threads and interact with other members? If so how? If not, why not?

I was very shy at first and I would often watch in the corner wanting to be like the bigger boys. Then one day this guy called Zammo gave me some magic powder and all of a sudden I had a lot to say!

18. Do you find it easy to express yourself online? Do you behave differently online? If so why? E.g. is it because you can have different ID?

On here I behave exactly the same as everyday me. When I am on redtube.com I act differently as I am often wearing a thong and rubbing banana custard into myself.

19. Do you have an avatar or a signature? If so what is it and why do you have it? Would you say it is the equivalent to wearing a shirt in real life, it is a way of showing your love for Arsenal?

Yes I have an avatar, in fact I have had a few. The one I have presently is how I imagine you to be......but without the top on! Please click on my signature for a fuller explanation.

20. Does this website/forum offer fans with a better source of information on Arsenal and football in general I.e. would you refer to this forum/website rather than tune into Sky Sports news? If so why if not why not?

I take anything I hear from here or any other part of the media with a pinch of salt! For instance some people on here say that Senderos is a good steady centre half! Who they truing to kid hey!

21. Can fan sites such as this compete with traditional media sources like the tabloids and football programmes?

The day they put Gabby Logan and all the female Sky Sports News presenters on here it can compete....until then we have to supplement our man needs with redtube.com

22. In your opinion do you prefer interacting with your team in the traditional sense e.g. watching the games, reading the sports pages rather than logging onto the forum and interacting with other fans and the team on fan sites?

I like throwing glass bottles at Ashley Cole!

23. Are their negatives of online fandom?

One2Smooth

24. How does online gooner compare to the real life fanzine?

I don't need electricity to read the real life one.....unless it is dark!

Will that be all?
