First ever Arsenal game

Also, first game at highbury, end of the season, arsenal 5-1 southampton, pretty sure glenn cotterill scored for the saints. Again if anyone remembers the season i'd be grateful cos i dont remember, altho im sure its not too difficult for me to find out!!

what a game, were you on the North bank that day, as I'm sure that was the last ever game.

This is the most iconic game that I've been to.

The last in the Football League as the Premiership was formed the following August

The last game for Lineker in England, who lost his golden boot to Ian Wright that day

The last game for David Rocastle at Arsenal

The last game for GG's attacking Arsenal who were replaced by boring Arsenal the following August.

This is in my mind where old football ended and new football started. And I still have the ticket stub - Â£4.

It was season 1991/2.

I was at the same game on the north bank close to west stand. Great game and Lineker missing out on the golden boot was pure joy.

My first game was a drab affair, 0-0 at home to West home in 86 I think and the highlight was Perry Groves hitting the side netting at the clock end but I just fell in love with the place (and the average team we had then)

I was slap bang in the middle of the North Bank a few metres up from the front - with the view of Seaman's long throw to Ian Wright to the half way line and his running nearer and nearer towards me, as if the North bank was sucking him towards goal, slotting it in and going mental

February 9th 1980 @ home to Aston Villa, won 3 -1

I was 9 years old and it was a mid week match. I had travelled up from Peterbororugh with my old man to watch it....Happy Days

Around 95/96..i was 6 or 7...arsenal vs sunderland at highbury..we turned em over 4 nill with 2 dis allowed goals..

My memories were being dressed totally dressed in my blue away kit..with TA6 on the back..ray parlour having a goal disallowed..and spillin a bottle of oasis drink for the 4th goal(forget who scored it)...wish i had more to be honest

I can't remember the year, late 80s/early 90s. Villa at home, we won 5-0.
The villa goal keeper went off injured, and as it was the days before sub goalies, david platt took over for him. Only they didn't have a spare top so he had to wear an arsenal goal keeper top. Few minutes later they either a found a villa one, or took it off the injured keeper, so they gave it to David, who then took off the Arsenal one, screwed it up in a ball and chucked it away in disgust.

Never forgave him that, well not until his header against man ure.

cheers for the info, being very young i wasnt aware of too much back then.... cant rememebr where i was sitting, my uncle managed to get the seats for free as someone he worked with couldnt go - it was either on the west or east stand, not bad view, i i was standing on a seat for several points!!!

good to know my first highbury game was so iconic tho!!

my first time 2 c the arsenal was in a pre season friendly injuly or august of 1987, at the brandywell v derry city (my local team). arsenal won 2-0 that day, and it memory serves, hayes, and quinn scored the goals.

my first visit 2 highbury was ain august 2004. it was nit a nite 2 forget very quickly even if it was my 1st time. a 0-0 draw v blackburn, who eventually won the league that season
