SHAKHTAR DONETSK THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'll applaud before and after the game, i certainly wont be singing his name in the 90 minutes, most of our plastic fans cant even sing songs for our own players let alone someone who is playing on the other team
Spot on Wozza .
True Legends coming home like Viera and Henry got the Pre and After Worship with 'that was then , this is now ' moment trumping the obvious adulation . Know we gave PV a bit more of a sing song last year with Citeh's visit but that was as much to rub Greedy's face in it as for anything .
Eddy gave up part of his career and life for The Arsenal at St. Andrews and deserves or warmest gratitude and genuine warmth but not at the expense of our current team . Save the vocal chords for Nasri and Eboue
and we'll clap our old No.9 off to a Hero's good bye .

It's inevitable that he'll score in one of the two games. Before the injury he was one of the best finishers I had ever seen. Martin Taylor not only halted Eduardo's career but he tarnished our history. We were well on the way to winning the League and we just don't know where that could of taken us.

Anyway, hope he scores but only a consolation :)

3-1 Arsenal.

See ya in the Clockend, mate.

I'm the tall one singing. :barscarf: :-P :barscarf:
I was about to say the same thing. Im taking my brother, a norwich fan, who has only ever been to Emirates for Emirates cup. I need to try and prove to him that a matchday atmosphere does exist.

I love champions league home games under the lights.

Where's decent pre-match mid-week, am thinking Gunners?? Aren't chelsea on an early kick off??

Should be a formality. I'd like to Cesc get some game time before the weekend.

I don't think so at all, Shaktar are not shabby. I hope i'm wrong but I don't see this being a walk in the park (although I said that about Braga too lol). 3-1 to Arsenal if we turn up with our game faces on, any lack of concentration & they could punish us though....

I'd happily chant Eduardo's name. The guy almost lost a leg for us. I will never forget his 'goodbye message' as well, had me in tears. What a class act.

Might be odd, but I'd like Clichy to play LW and Gibbs LB tomorrow. Srna + Jadson are a threat. AA23 would be no help to the LB.

Can't wait for Eduardos return. It will be emotional for him. If he does score... erm... That will be awkward.

Hoping to see a rousing reception / goodbye for Eddy but also a comfortable win too get us qualified asap.

3-1 to the Arsenal :barscarf:
Of course it does :-P ! See you there. I suspect they'll be plenty of room to move around if you don't like your seat....

I don't think this will be an easy game. A draw might even be a good result given how many we have out. The upside would be that it keeps it interesting for those going to the last couple of CL group games.....
