It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

He needs to work out why his form has slipped, and correct it. Not throw a tantrum.
NOW it all makes sense. You aren't a stooge for the Board. Why not just intoduce yourself Formally Mr. Hill-Wood?
Why?
Cant you put your petty squabbles to one side in threads that dont involve the board or finances?
Relax - I was simply suggesting his attitude which I don't disagee with that much - still came off about as out-of-touch with the reality of football and footballers today as Mr. Hill-Wood sounds often.
Once upon a time that would have been a completely legitimate view and even good advice to the young man who's made a mess of his life.
But the reality is that now the days of football clubs instructing players how to live their lives off as well as on the oitch are dead and gone.. Right or wrong that is the way it is.
I will defer further comment to let this thread continue but seriously ismn't it odd how the same people react the same way no matter what I say or where I say it. I was tweaking the out-dated attitude in Quartz's post, nothing more. You all - and its the same people every time turn what I say into more than what it amounts to and then you kill the thread by making itb all about how I have killed it no matter what I say.
Let's see if you do that again now.
BTW what is bizarre is how your anger at anyone criticizing the Board makes you unable to see what was obviouslu humor as humor
I'll back Martin all the way on this one. Everytime he posts, he gets attacked, regardless of what he writes. This rivalry between US and Quartz regarding the board has been played and nothing came of it. I, for one, actually agree with a lot of what USM has to say. He speaks sense but quite a few of you are either too scared to see it or you really aren't that bothered.
I suppose it's fair game to slag off the club but when somebody attempts to find the problem and solution, you dont want to know? Mind-boggling.
His posts are lengthy and at times repetitive but you cant doubt his opinions anymore that anyone elses. For one, you dont even have to read it and even if you've taken the time out of your busy day at work to do so, you dont need to comment.
I'm all for debates and banter back and forth, whether its about your ex-wife or Eboue, I'm really not too fussed but attacking an individual on a forum is childish and uncalled for. He hasn't even mention anything about the board in this thread but everyone jumps on the bandwagon and has a dig.
As I suggested earlier my sense is that that is a clash betweenn a very old-school manager and a very new-school footballer, and the new-school appears likely to win out here.
Ferguson could only delay the imnevitable in his first encounter with these new-schoolers and hold onto Cristaino Ronaldo one more year to try and save some face.
At best I would guuess unless somehting dramatic happens like a vastly improved deal it is certain that at best Rooney will depart United by the end of the season. Even if such a deal is offered it may not prevent this.
The real test may not come in being able to keep Rooney but in how willing they are to replace him to reassure supporters which given some of the other players nearing the end of their career may not be by buying a top-class striker to replace him.

If you read his posts in detail you would know that any attempt to rationally and politely discuss the club, results in him throwing insults and twisting people's words.
I have no problem with him holding a different view, and people must be free to speak their mind on here within the rules of the Forum,
but
he attempts to lure people into long arguments by insulting them and misquoting their posts.
Not just mine but a lot of others, hence the antipathy towards him on here.
It is troll behaviour, hence he gets no respect from me.

That's fine. I can understand people having their own opinions about others but constantly jumping on someone after everything they write becomes tiresome. The beauty of opinion - this place would be piss boring if everyone had the same one.

Personally i dont dig at USmartin over his vews on the board and agree he has some valid points even if he goes about them in the wrong way. why i was questioning his 'joke' at Quartz was because i thought it was another dig and due to the lack of emoticons i couldnt tell it was a joke and we dont need another thread going down that old road....
