Well if that is the case he obviously doesn't want to stay in England any more either because he has been dire for them aswell...1989 wrote:I think he's still a top player. He's just not in good form at the moment, probably because he no longer wants to stay in that shithole! :wink:Charlie! Charlie! wrote:I wonder if we have seen the best of Shrek as a player? Listening to Fergies interview today..he is saying Rooneys agent told him in August Rooney would not be signing a new contract, so this is nothing to do with being left out of the team recently, and i doubt if it is about money. If it was they would have at least entered in to some negotiations first, which apparently they haven't and don't intend to..
Personally i would guess one of two things are behind this, either the brainless brat is having problems with his team mates, which wouldn't surprise me because he is not exactly overloaded in the brain or looks department, so i'm sure he probably is on the end of quite a bit of piss taking..
Or looking at the timing of Fergie being told about him not signing a new contract (august) maybe Rooney and his agent were not too happy with Uniteds lack of investment in the team and saw medal opportunities disappearing and are now looking to bail out to somewhere they think they are more likely to get some...
Regardless i don't think them losing him would be that big a deal, yes at his best he is a terrific player but for the last year he has been crap and yet has been persevered with both for England and United when really on performance he should have been benched. Which makes it all the stranger he now seems to think he's fit for bigger things..
On current form his importance to both England and United is grossly over exaggerated and i don't think United would miss him if he left..
Uniteds problem is the same as ours, recent lack of proper investment in the team overall and until they remedy that they will be in gradual decline
and i doubt if Rooneys departure or staying will make much difference to that..
at this point I think the fact they are losing thier only "STAR PLAYER" is bigger than the effect of losing him as a striker, when beckham went they had giggs, scholes van horse etc.
whos name is going to go on the back of shirts next season: nani, berbatov?
they will be losing scholes, giggs, rooney, van der sar and ferdinand is a broken down roids freak - I would say they need some serious investment at a time when they have fuck all cash while City have it to burn.
I think they may be in a spot of trouble myself, might just be wishfull thinking, but any team that loses 2-0 leads like they do, and cant beat an SPL outfit are not a team to fear.

Although, TBH I despise the granny raping knacker. Not sure if my love for Arsenal and wanting what's best for the team can overcome my pure hatred of that scumbag.

Wages and the lure of chelsea would stop it anyway, thats provided he wants to move south.

But we wont because Bendtner and Vela will be gods.1989 wrote:I'd sign him in a heartbeat. Don't care what he's like off the pitch, he's a fucking good player and if we get him we win the league simples.
Its sad because unlike Joe Cole, Rooney will be worth any excess signing on fee as he is a player worth £50-70mill.
In the end the question is, would he want to come down to us?

No we wouldn't. We still need a top goalkeeper that doesn't cost us points and a proper top quality DM that can dominate and help dictate games. Adding the granny raper would be a step forward I agree, but not the decisive step.1989 wrote:I'd sign him in a heartbeat. No Rooney for me, I like following a team of classy players, and he's too much of a media magnet/circus (as are most top-tier English players).
I hear 20m and now Guardiola is suggesting a 25m move... is that all he's worth? I'm surprised at those offers, they seem low... I guess teams are trying to steal a deal since he's out of form and essentially transfer listed.
Would love to see him go to Barcelona, an invigorated Rooney is dangerous in the EPL and I would hope (pathetically) that such a move hurts their chances of buying Fabregas. (After this season's midfield crisis, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to spend for him).
My prediction? If he does go, I want to say Manchester City. Tevez is saying some sketchy things to the media about his future, Adebuywhore is a slut who already wants a new team, Santa Cruz won't step into that role... a new CF, from their direct rivals no less, would be a good fit. Also imagine how hostile the Trafford leg of the derby would be, can you imagine? An absolute dream fixture for a neutral.
