WHAT HAPPENS CHAMAKH IF RVP GETS FIT?
I have been very impressed by Chamakh and in particular his work-rate.
It's hard to see how he and RVP could play together, and I think he contributes as much if not more than RVP.
Neither are out and out goal scorers, and I think RVP should have to earn back "his place" by coming off the bench and putting in big performances.
Unfortunately I can see Wenger either pushing Chamakh out wide(like he has done with Bendtner and Eddie) or relegating him to the bench.

Chamakh should keep his place in the side until injury or fatigue set in. Which they will, he's been going full pelt playing every game in his first season in English football, it wont last all year.
In the meantime, RvP should be out on the right wing once fit with nasri on the left and AA/TR warming the bench.

Like Cesc, Robin isn't one to earn his place in the team. He is a starter when fit without a doubt and Arsene has to figure it out and get it right.
IMO, In important game I would take Jack out the team and play Cesc deep with Robin behind Chamakh. Remember we are still in all cup competitions and rotation is a necessity.

RVP should play out wide. Left or right it doesn't really matter. He's played on the wing for Holland plenty of times and with Arshavin playing like he's lost a leg, i'd expect Nasri to play wide left and RVP wide right. Chamakh is quality and he really does offer us something extra going foward. While he's in this form, he should keep his place. Doubt we'll see Robin before the New Year anyway!

I honestly think we should sell RVP. He doesn’t do that much, we can’t get a full season out of him and like you said he is not an out and out goal scorer. Sell him on, he is WAY past his sell by date and we should get quite abit for him.
Then buy a striker that can work well with Cham.
With regards to the question I would replace AA23 with RVP and play him on the left.
We should also sell AA23 and replace that fat twat! If I knew we would get replacements for both then I would be very happy.

I agree with Mikey, I would sell RVP, his fitness record simply isn't good enough.
As for playing him out wide, why? He isn't a winger and this is just accomodation for the sake of it.
Wenger has tried RVP before, when accomodating him after injury (fa cup semi for example)Didn't work and won't work.

Good point, was just thinking of a way, where he could play. Whats the point of playing him central when he only lasts a few games of the season. This will damage Cham as he working that role well and gets better every match.goonersid wrote:I agree with Mikey, I would sell RVP, his fitness record simply isn't good enough.

Said it beofre but my first choice is to sell RVP.
I would have sold RVP 18 months ago.Not because he isnt a good player its he is never fucking fit and will never play a full season. So we are relying on a player who will give us 15 games a season..He has played 30 mins all season FFS and still no sign of him coming back. Chamakh has really suprised me, his workrate is excellent and he add's a threat in the air.Chamakh is now our number 1 striker

If they had to play in same team, I would normally play RvP wide right where he has had experience playing for The Netherlands and scored good goals for them.GunnerDude wrote:

Chamakh would be upfront, with Cesc or Wilshere in the central role of the attacking midfield three, and Nasri or Theo wide left.
If one of Cesc or Wilshere was out, then I would drop whichever was fit back to play next to Song, and play Chamakh in the middle of the three attacking midfielders in the role Cesc played last night.
Then I would play RvP in front of him as the striker, because his greatest asset is a quick shot on goal.
When he plays centrally deeper in a more Bergkamp type role he can take too many touches and disrupt a move.
