Ex-Players Scoring Against Us

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ex-Players Scoring Against Us

Post by Bring Back Pires »

Everytime an Arsenal player leaves, they seem to come back to haunt us. It seems to happen ridiculously frequently, so I've made a list of the offenders. Feel free to add your own:

- Paul Merson (for Aston Villa)

- Kevin Campbell (for Nottingham Forest)

- Paul Dickov (for Leicester City)

- Eduardo (for Shakhtar Donetsk)

- Emmanuel Adebayor (for Manchester City)

- Nicolas Anelka (for Chelsea)

- Kanu (for Portsmouth)

- David Bentley (for Spuds)

- Jeremie Aliadiere (for Middlesbrough)

And I'm sure there's been many more. Just glad that Cashley isn't there (yet).

And when he was at everton. Scored for them in a 4-1 (or 3-1) arsenal victory at Highbury(I was there) The week before the fa cup final against the scousers.

I'm not sure if haunt applies to all of those.

If by haunt, you mean played against, then that's fair enough

Ljungberg had one disallowed in a 1-0 win at West Ham a couple of years ago.

Agreed - Eduardo's goal hardly haunted us - in fact I would say it was welcome and maybe enven a bit carthartic in that it now closes a truly sad and upsetting chapter in Arsenal's history. I can see some saying that when we win the Premiership again it will close fully but for me the trauma of that day at St Andrews now has been largely put to rest, at least the trauma of that incident. Let us hope one day we can say the same of Aaron Ramsey though ideally as an Arsenal player still.

A phenomena that Myles Palmer often mentions Brian Glanville calling "The Immutable Law of the Ex!"

"They'll" meaning "one's ex", rather than inferring that I have any physical liaison with Myles Palmer or Brain Glanville!!!!!
