WHAT HAPPENS CHAMAKH IF RVP GETS FIT?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Play them both or alternate them until RVP is injured again. Harsh but true. I think RVP is quality but his injury record is terrible. I was hoping he would have a great World Cup, it would bump his price up and then sell him on. How much money would we get for him anyway with his injury record.

I wonder what RVP's injury record is like compared to old Sicknote Anderton. Actually although he played for Spuds I thought DH was a quality player too, blighted by injury.

I really like Chammy as well. Works hard, decent finisher, great with his heading...however, Robin van Persie is on a different level, called World Class. Once he is fully fit he should almost always start ahead of Chamakh.

IMO we should really play a 4-4-2 with BOTH of them up front, diamond behind in midfield with Cesc, Song, Nasri, and Walcot, sort of how we played real well in 2007 with Fab, Flamini, Hleb, Rosicky. Unfortunately I dont think Song can handle the responsibility like Flamini did on his own.

So Cham will play all season and when he he needs a break RVP can play. :barscarf:

Sell RVP and be done with him.

RVP is a quality player, however I'm having second thoughts on whether we should keep on the fact that he's hardly ever fit! Chamakh has done wonderfully well so far, and as a kick up the backside to Arshavin I'd bring RVP back for Arshavin. But one thing is for certain: Chamakh should not be dropped in his current form, and any reason to leave him out should be based on a desire to rotate the squad :barscarf:

he will be dropped and then brought on as sub on twenty mins for the injured van persie, he will then retain his place until VP returns six months later

Agree with that but would add that if RVP does return to the side alongside Chamakh, it shouldn't be in the central role with our Moroccan pushed into the wide positions, because Chamakh gives us more physical presence and is a better target and focal point up top.

RVP could play behind him or, as pointed out by Quartz, on the right flank as he does for the Netherlands. If not, then he has to battle with Chamakh for the right to be the main man up top and not just walk straight back into the side regardless. 8)

let him cut inside from the right like theo loves to do (despite his abundance of pace being wasted when he could hit the dead ball line at a jog and knock one in for chamakh), sagna/eboue on the overlap if there's nowhere to go...

its how i roll on fifa 11 anyway

I heard he's now the only player who scored a goal in 6 Champion's League games in a row.

Van Persie Number1.. Chamack on the bench.. he'll still get his fair share of football.

Chamakh is a starter as far as I'm concerned. RvP will have to earn his place.
