WHAT HAPPENS CHAMAKH IF RVP GETS FIT?

Rvp has already earned his place in any Arsenal side.

Ahhhhhhh! At last! A thread talking about RVP!

I think I'm the only one left who's still so pissed off by the RVP situation. The guy comes back from injury two or three weeks before the end of last season, goes through the whole world cup without injury (and with quite anonimity), misses the beginning of this season because he "needs to rest" after a world cup where he did f*ck all... He plays 30 min and gets injuried again? Initially for ten days and ONCE AGAIN, it becomes months???!!!

RVP used to be my favorite player, since the departure of Titi and Dennis... But I'm getting more and more depressed at the idea that I will never see him fulfill his potential.... :banghead:

So basically my opinion is that Chammy has earned his place in the first team, VP will have to start from the bench and prove that he's better... and that he CAN STAY FIT!!!

Van Persie can leave as far as I'm concerned. Looked a real talent years ago, even had that fiery spirit and got stuck in all the time.

That ended a long time ago. Fed up of the sight of the guy. His time here has come and gone. Cut the losses and go.

Are you for real? Upto his injury last season he was in World XI form. He hadn't even got going this season before his injury trouble. I can understand being frustrated about his health, but suggesting he's got no fire/spirit is a little unfair.

SELL RVP???? why the fuck would you want to do that? Wenger would NEVER use the cash and just play Emanuel Thomas or someone. Are you that worried about the wage bill cause I aint seeing as we dont buy anyone?? At least when he is fit (granted it aint that often) he's world class and will win you games, proven fact. Alot of people woulda said the same about Rosicky last year, and I think he's been a brilliant squad player so far this season and looks to be taking Arshavins place in the side.

Also whats wrong with 4-4-2 and playing BOTH RVP and Chamakh up top?

Tbh I see alot of similarities between Eduardo and RVP, in the injury department anyway, we all know why Eddie got shipped, so why hasnt RVP? Everyone knows that RVP will play a percentage of the season and definitely not 100%, it cant be denied that he is class, but by the time he gets back this season (de ja vu?), then has ' a few games' to get back up to speed, he'll pick up a niggle and then the seasons over. For me Chammy should lead our line, have been very impressed with his work rate and seems to have slotted into the side effortlessly plus he provides an aerial presence that we have been missing for sometime now, unfortunately RVP is just to injury prone for us to carry him :(.
This is professional football with not a lot of room for sentimentality unfortunately, and tough decisions have to be made.

@Naki: I believe Eduardo left because he couldn't get over the mental hurdle following the horrendous tackle. You need a certain level of fearlessness to be a striker in the EPL, and I think he and Wenger both understood that he was having difficulty getting over the injury.

Persie seems to play with a lot of tenacity despite his fragility.

For me that's the difference of the two.

Van Persie should not just walk back into the team as Chamakh has done well but we all know he will.

There is no reason why they cant play together, Song can't hold the midfield together on his own but I think Jack has shown that he has the ability to do it, I know its early days but he could easily improve on what Flamini had to offer as he is dynamic, Song is not so he should be moved into defence where he could be better used, for him to play in MF we need to play someone next to him for extra security, its taking up a place which could be used to pair up Chamakh and Van Persie.

donaldo wrote:I would have sold RVP 18 months ago.Not because he isnt a good player its he is never fucking fit and will never play a full season. So we are relying on a player who will give us 15 games a season..He has played 30 mins all season FFS and still no sign of him coming back. Chamakh has really suprised me, his workrate is excellent and he add's a threat in the air.Chamakh is now our number 1 striker
I totally agree on that, discussing this at The Brum march. RVP should have to work really hard to recliam his place. Chamakh will I am sure, need some time off later this year, so RVP should used as a impact SUB for the future, if or when he becomes fit again.

In the summer, subject to games played this year, might be worth offloading him, why he still got some value.

WHAT HAPPENS TO CHAMAKH IF RVP GETS FIT?

I don't know the actual answer but I'm guessing that he would be too old to play by then anyway. I don't suppose he'll care much
