He's not close he is.IMO only Messi is a better all round player. He has carried this team for the last 5 years and every game you watch him he makes you realise what a miss he will be next seasonEboue-Why? wrote:Haven't had one of those myself for bleedin' ages!!I Hate Hleb wrote:As for the football.....
Great result regardless of the circumstances, and really happy for Fabianski. Also delirious that we kept Ade from scoring and, despite some scary moments, that we somehow managed to keep a clean shit in an away game for the first time in 16 attempts.

Let's hope we use the confidence of this victory as the platform for a long, unbeaten run and, whilst I still have apprehensions as to certain aspects of our play, if we get our injured players back soon we may, just may, be in a position to seriously challenge.![]()

ps fookin brilliant result. Let's hope we can get a run of injury free games and see where it gets us. I'm starting to think that Cesc is close to being the best attacking midfielder in the world and as others have said pleased and relieved for Flappy but he still runs around like he's on acid
MAN CITY AWAY THREAD.. and good pub

Brilliant. Everyone's going to say "City only had 10 men" but that's no fault of Arsenal's; they could deal with Chamakh's chance early and the defender chose to take himself out of the game instead of possibly concede a goal.
Choice made, game won, 3 points to the Arsenal. Good to see the boys get rewarded, let's keep building on it!!

How the fuck does Stoke v Man Utd with a scoreline of 1-2 get put on before a 3-0 Arsenal v Man City game where the two teams involved are challenging for the title? Wonder if Utd v Chelsea would ever get put second to Arsenal v Stokejaggygooner wrote:shit forgot they were playing todayDan_85 wrote:Not a chance, it'll be Utd first.jaggygooner wrote:this could finally be the day!!!!!!!!!! when were we last the first team on match of the day when we WON. I can't remember a more frustrating game, having to constantly yell "SHOT!" at the tv and only because I know that at any minute we could piss all the hard work down the drain with a mistake.
Credit were its due, Flappy had a great game and maybe this is the mysterious "training" Fabianski that Arsene is always talking about, I just hope he keeps it up.
Also, I believe no one can say Nasri doesn't perform away from home, the lad is simple on fire and long may it continue.
Glad we got the win, hope we push on and not take our next opponents for granted.
You can't have it both ways i.e. want Clichy to close down up the pitch and help us break/assist AA and then have him back to defend immediately we lose the ball.
The lad had a good game bar the one time Richards muscled him for the ball and got past him, even then Clichy recovered.
I hope Gibbs gets a start against Newcastle and plays another blinder against what should be an easy team but I will still play Clichy in the big games.

Despite my early concerns about the signing of Seb, he has been good for us. The guy has a calm assurance about him. I just think Citeh targeted Djourou and it was obvious he had problems handling them.augie wrote:Huge huge win - a lot of players played well but nasri was motm for meI have to say though that I constantly wonder where seb is when we are under pressure cos he never seems to be the one that makes the tackle, header or interception so on occasions it does indeed look like djouru is having a 'mare but his defensive partner is awol
But isnt that Djourou's job? along with Denilson and Song to cover the full backs when they venture forwarddonaldo wrote:Good:Flappy Sagna Nasri and of course Cesc
Bad: Clichy,Denilson and Arshavin
Of course the sending off made a big difference can you imagine us playing with 10 men for 86 mins.Clichy is still the weak link. Some are having a go at Djourou but he spent half the time covering for Clichy. It has to be time for Gibbs to start.Denilson just cannot pass a ball forward to a team mate.As for Arshavin i have stuck up for him many times but once again he didnt seem interested

the bbc have just anounced that should Arsenal win the league this season the winning game will be shown on the football league show just after the lincoln southend 0-0 draw, although the coverage will be shortend should the following weather forcast be particularly interesting that day
WTF has NB52 got on his head in MOTD....
Anyway good result, absolutely buzzing, who cares it was 10men , can't bellieve Nasri's got 7 in 7, been our best player by far this season. Nice to see Nick come off the bench and get the type of one on one goals he was f'ing up last season.
And Flappy what can I say but keep this up and the name Flappy might just become a historic nickname that we use in self deprecating humour.
I can't wait for Wed night. I know it will be a different game but, there's nowt like an away win ooop norf to warm the cockles...talking gibberish now so I'll be off
