Decided to take my kid to her first away game this season...i dont like taking her but its my turn for half term hols and i dont want to miss a game...so she had to attend.

Anyway was right by the seg line behind the goal, lower tier.

Second goal goes in....and seconds later nice full bottle is thrown from scum on the left of me...it whistles past me and smashes straight into my daughters chest (she is 11)
What an awful story. There really are some *word censored* that watch football, especially in the north and at the spuds.

I'd write a letter to Shitteh to report the matter. Tell them your row and seat numbers and explain the incident. Explain that they should be encouraging childen to go to matches, not scaring them off by allowing violence and abuse at their matches.

I knew it was not a good idea taking her....and in hindsight i should not have taken her.

She was really upset by this but despite tears decided she wasnt gonna let them bastards get to her and carried on with watching the game and celebrated the third goal hard and long ....

Its one of those things i guess, i suppose it was bound to happen but sometimes things leave a sour taste in the mouth.

After the game i was walking back to my car with four friends and my kid. Out of nowhere this MANC scum bag smacks my mate straight in the mouth before legging it....

once more my kid witnesses this....

fuck me i thought....this aint good

Now i have travelled all over and i know these things are not good and happen...im no mug and im not asking for any sympathy.....but now i have a petrified kid who wont go there again....which is fair enough...

my point is this....a club like Man City is supposedly a family club...YET i dont feel safe taking my kid to a game. Its not because she is a girl, she is a tough cookie, but i feel aggreived that my kid was hit....and i wasnt...i feel so guilty that she took the blow....

It was a great result but really is it necessary to act like c**ts???
I noticed a sinister feel to proceedings today....three years back when we done them 3-1 (previous win) there was a bubbly, happy atmosphere......today i saw scum crawling out the woodwork who have become like the lid who finds a twenty pound note and doesnt know what to spend it on......Man City is a shit club and i wanna punch them all
Sorry to hear that Sammy. We had exactly the same experience last year, but I put it down to the Ade factor. My 14 year old son was hit in the face with a plastic bottle with his 12 year old brother watching on. Other people around us were hit with coins. I can actually be seen in the picture of Ade celebrating (shown again in the Mirror sport supplement on Saturday) , with gooners surging forward. Actually my kids were in the picture as well, but you can't see them as by that stage they were cowering under my coat and we left shortly afterwards.

They can both laugh about it now and almost look on it as a rite of passage. But if it had been my daughter than it would have no doubt been her last match! We wrote to Man City and did get a response response and phone call. Sounds like nothing has changed though. I can honestly say that it's the first time in many years that I've tried to have a go at another set of fans and believe me I'd have taken some of those w*nk*rs down with me.

We've been to Old Trafford and Anfield in recent years with no trouble whatsoever - so, given Spurs reputation as well - I can only think this is what you get at the home of the ugly twin. I imagine that Everton are the same.

Take her to West Brom away next time around just to get the bad taste out of her mouth. It'll be hard but try to get her to realise that the City scum are not the norm!

Im truly suprised to read people having a pop at Denilson - I thought he was excellent yesterday, sat back well and it was a very mature and disciplined performance in a big game given an early yellow. I dont disagree he is a squad player - but I think people need to be able to not pre-judge him before a game starts, because he deserves credit for yesterday no matter what you think of him overall. Denilson let the others roam forward - just because he doesnt get a mention from Andy Gray every 5 seconds or make killer passes doesnt mean he had a poor game, people need to look beyond that and look at the job he did, his natural instinct is to go forward but he sits back and works for the team - he was certainly more influential in the game than Barry, Fat boy Toure and James "£27m for one good cross in the WC" Milner thats for sure. The only "poor" performance for me was Johan - but even he had a much better second half when he stopped titting about and switched on.

I think Nasri has also dispelled the myth this season (which i never really agreed with) that he doesnt perform away from home and isnt "up for a fight" - his record has been excellent this season so far and he looks very motivated to succeed - once again he was the victim of some rough treatment, but he mixed it well and also tracked back to help Sagna - a luxury Clichy doesnt have infront of him which is often why he is left exposed.......(but I do agree that his days are numbered if Gibbo takes his chance)

It was only one game, but im pleased to see the whole team front up, as they have in other games when teams have tried to intimidate us physically - the pressure was all on us after the red card but we dealt with it well, and didnt let the penalty miss affect us - all small points of course, but valid ones given our past performances in big games and signs that we are moving in the right direction - hopefully this will turn the tide and make the team believe they can win in the big games. I dont buy into "they only had 10 men" argument, it made our job easier for sure - but we have won and lost games on both sides of the coin and they still had more than enough quality on the pitch to cause us an away team problems, we worked hard for that win.

With Bendtner (fantastic finish given he hasnt played for so long) and Walcott coming back the squad is stronger now - its up to us to really make a fight of the league because I think it is very much there for us this year - IF we show the same fight and attitude we did yesterday.

MOM for me was Fabianski - superb saves at 0-0 and 1-0, i wont say my worries have completely gone - but he is obviously a confidence player and it shows how good he can be when the confidence is high - and it was good to see the team get round and gee him up after his saves. With TV and RVP not even in the reckoning yet, we are in good shape - but we need to bag 3 points on Saturday for sure, hopefully after a good midweek win!

Back to the match itself.......I though it was a terrific performance from Arsenal. Ok, so City had a player sent off early on - but thats life and it wasn't a big enough advantage to guarantee us the win. Look at Anfield on the first day of the season for the proof of that!

We were poor in the first half - but we were playing a team that the media at least are building up to be the best team in Europe. And even then we still scored one and missed a penalty. And we were denied an excellent goal scoring opportunity that led to the sending off.

The second half was a different story. I thought we were magnificent. Bossed it from start to finish and in truth probably should have won the game by more than three. How patronising then of the Sky commentary team for giving so much credit to "poor" City....bloody hell. I thought that City's approach after the sending off was just naive. They are supposed to be genuine rivals and yet difficult to see Chelsea or United (or us?) being so soundly beaten at home and then trying to claim credit for not giving in until half time.....

Sorry to hear about your daughter, Sammy.

I have to say there was a lot of ugly stuff on both sides yesterday and I think it probably stems from the Adebayor/Van Persie stuff, as well as City now being a threat to us.

On the train up, there were loads of pissed up gooners, being racist and rude to female city fans who largely ignored them. I sat right near the home fans at the game and again, nasty stuff on both sides. City fans saying racist stuff to black arsenal fans, singing the Wenger peado song, gooners singing anti-muslim stuff at an aisian city fan (then singing Samir Nasri the next minute  ) and the Adebayor 'shot in Angola' song was pretty inflammatory too. Both sides also throwing coins etc.

There was trouble outside the ground at at Euston which is a shame for teams that used to be united in their hatred for Man U.

Personally i wouldn't take an 11 year old to either of the Manchester or Liverpool clubs ground.

In fact i would say you should have a serious think about taking to most away grounds.

I concur with all of this. Their were some real bad vibes after the game. first of all I made the henious crime of trying to walk to my car some 50 yards away from the turnstyle and some idot copper told to to walk the other way all around the whole stadium to get to it (sending me directly into the path of the citeh masses). When I pointed my car to the copper and asked politley if I could nip over to it really quickly he told me if I didnt stop "kicking off" he would effing nick me for being a p***k . Okay, no wonder the police have such a bad name in this country.

On my long trip around the stadium I had no less then 5 separate people come up to me and call me various things that I wont repeat here. Most of them to tended to rhyme with banker anyway. Then someone the icing on the cake was when some goon came up to me and said they were gonna "smash my cockney face in", and "what was I going to do about it"? I told them to take their best shot cos if they didnt floor me with their it I was gonna hurt them seeing as i'm a 2nd dan black belt. Quick thinking on my part but it seemed to do the trick as he scarpered quick enough.

Anyway the reason it annoyed me so much was that it was the first arsenal game ive ever taken my missus to and it kinda ruined what had been a great day up until that point. It was probably a blessing in disguise actually because she said she never wants to go again. yay (she was monitoring my beer intake all day as GF's do and commenting on each new purchase)

In summary. Really sore losers, poor set of fans and a tip for anyone going next time; dont wear colours like I did. Massive mistake

Given the number of Muslim players we have, I find that extra-ordinary and shocking. If anything us and United have the largest muslim following in the country

Wearing colours at City was never a problem but now this game has really bad vibes and ill-feeling amonst both set of supporters, mainly theirs, with them being really bad losers as well. I now see that it might be an occasion where colours may need to be avoided in furture

I agree - almost pointed that out to him but he was a little scary, didnt have the nerve. Heard the p**i word for the first time in years, and the first time ever from Arsenal fans, and loads of sarky comments like 'fuck off, aren't you meant to be fasting?'

I was really suprised by the nasty feelings on both sides and think most of it stems from Adebayor. There's a lot of hatred for our players too (Van Persie inciting them after scoring last season, Cesc waving an imaginary card to get their player sent off this match).

Also, a gooner continually calling cesc a gypsy when he missed his pen and had a few soft shots.

after reading a a lot of the stuff on their forum... is it normal for fans to be so optimistic? before the game they all seemed pretty unanimous they'd beat us no trouble, and after the result they all have no doubt they're by far the better team and will finish above us no trouble (after smashing us at the emirates).
i never just expect us to win games, and if this game had happened the opposite way round i would imagine this forum would be mainly people being glad the scoreline wasn't worse, and criticising whoever got themselves sent off, whereas they blame the ref for everything (even the ones who agree the sending off and pen were correct decisions, still blame the ref because "if we didn't give him an excuse to give the gooners an unfair advantage he would've just made up a reason anyway"!) reckon we're lucky wankers, and who the fuck do we think we are singing after winning a tough away?! (instead of being silent arsenal from the library i suppose).
either way i think i'll read more opposition forums after this, it really is an eye opener as to how other fans think...

Looking at all this negative stuff it's reminded me when the ref stopped the game to talk to the 4th official.
Looked like as if something was thrown. Now judging by the threads I guess it was aimed at Nasri who was with Clichy about to take the throw/kick. (?) I'm guessing it was steems from the racist stuff dished out to Nasri.

FrenchGun wrote:Excellent performance if you look at the scoreline. However this game left me a sour taste in my mouth... Our first Half was shocking to say the least. THe second half was better but against a 9 men team (yes tevez played half the game with an injury and I believe this is the main reason he was transparent), and if we consider we're title challengers, we should've killed this game far earlier. If we watch the succession of events today, everything was going our way and we were the only ones making it hard for ourselves!
Djourou, in the first half....   Clichy can be at fault for many things, but he's not responsible for Djourou being clumsy and god damn slow!!! Djourou's performance today was Silvestre-like! The guy is nothing more than a big accident waiting to happen! THe less I see him play this season the better...
Arshavin was his usual self, lazy as fuck! We know what he's capable of which makes it even less forgivable.
Nasri is growing in stature this season. Let's hope he can keep this good form. His body language suggests he's in a very good shape physically.
Flappy...   what happened to the lad??!! Looks like the "training fabiansky" has taken over the usual "Flappy-handski".

Overall, great win. But not as convincing as I expected a victory at man city would be...
Dude Why are you so pernickety? A 3 – 0 win against a fellow title contender and you are commenting as if we played a third-division team. Common be glad of the 1st clean sheet in a long while
