A Mad Box Office Rule!!!!
A mate of mine wanted to use my memberships to book a couple of tickets to bring his misses to the stoke game. No probs. Said as cheap as I could get em, so lower tier was what he wanted.
I log on as I normally do (silver member), and saw two available in block 30 row 19. Went to book, said my membership wasnt valid. Looked for two tickets in other areas and only 2 in block 19 but row 4. Now I was available to book these. BUT row 4 is a bit low, so i thought id give the box office a call to see why my memberships werent valid in block 30. Ive never had any problem before as i always go in the new northbank.
Got through to the box office and was told this is the family enclosure area and you need a junior gunner membership to book tickets in that area....ok. But while on the phone and her searching for two lower tickets I asked out of interest. If those tickets werent purchased using a jr gunner membership would they go unsold?
She put me on hold and 30 seconds later came back and confirmed that YES you cannot book tickets in this area without a jr gunner membership and if they are not bought by someone with a jr gunner they will remain unsold........UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pay my membership every year. There are seats available (that may even go unsold) which im not allowed to purchase, and am forced to book more expensive tickets in the upper tier (on this occasion, i booked the block 19 row 4, because my mate cant really afford £50 each for stoke).....but what an absolute joke!!!!!!
Because I dont have a kid with me I cant go in that area.....what the fact that im a silver member and a dont have a kid with a paid up jr gunner membership makes some sort of yob who cant be exposed to the poor innocent families in that area.....WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to sing and cant help swearing at games so id never book tickets for myslf down there.
BUT as fully paid up silver member why shouldnt i be allowed to book in those areas?
And the fact the seat will remain unsold....yet i have to pay extra to sit in upper tier....thats just not rite.

If the seat will remain unsold...then yes. TBH This I would expect.

sign up as a junior gunner and you're away.
how do you think a junior gunner would feel if he/she had called the box office and was told that some silver member who was too old to be a junior gunner, didn't have junior gunner membership or was not part of a party that included a junior gunner had purchased those tickets and had thus prevented him from going.
you as a silver member can get in early enough to purchase tickets, you can't have your cake and eat it.

It should be called Junior Gunner section, because a family doesnt really need to have a child in it.....my mate and his wife are a family.Iceman29 wrote:I really like the poster with Manny in his posts but really this is a non-issue and not a stupid rule. Its a family enclosure for a reason!
My issue though is with the fact that they will remain unsold if not booked with a jnr gunner membership. Thats a joke, especially if the rest of the stadium is sold out. They have tickets available for sale, but I cant book them. And may not get to go to the game, but they have seats they wont sell me....i paid my membership too.

I think "family" is ubiquitous with events or perceptions involving kids.northbankbren wrote:It should be called Junior Gunner section, because a family doesnt really need to have a child in it.....my mate and his wife are a family.Iceman29 wrote:I really like the poster with Manny in his posts but really this is a non-issue and not a stupid rule. Im considering this now for the nephew even tho he's only 10months old.12thGooner wrote:

As for the preventing a jnr gunner from going, as I said my main problem is with fact the will let a seat go unsold, yet i may not be able to book one.
As you said I have no problems getting tickets, but as for the cake and eat it....its not as though i was lucky to get em. Ive been going for years, first they indroduced the booking scheme membership, which changed to silver membership.....i pay every year and have done since the whole membership scheme was introduced. So just because im a silver member doesnt mean I shouldnt complain.
Jt gunners are basically silver members anyway, they can book anywhere and I cant.....WHY?
Very simple answer to that question! Family enclosures avoid using strong language / behaviour while other areas of the stadium permit this to a certain extent. They can sit there if they like but you can't because your behaviour might be in violation of the rules of that area plus subject to complaints by thousands of people who sit therenorthbankbren wrote:Im considering this now for the nephew even tho he's only 10months old.12thGooner wrote:

I believe a JG can book anywhere but will end up paying full price if its not in the FE. Effectively, they'd be an adult.

Boomer your rite, if they dont book it family enclosure they have to pay adult price...another joke.
Iceman i see where your coming from, but there is no way the club could officially use this as an excuse as they would never be able to move from the official line of swearing/abuse.....are NOT allowed anywhere.
You can swear in this area to an extent, but not at all in family enclosure....nah that cannot be the reason, and one the club would not use. As technically its a breach of violatiopn to allow "bad behaviour" in any area of the stadium.
The fact remains that if the family enclosure is sold out a jr gunner can still book a ticket in another area of the stadium....BUT if the rest of the stadium is sold out apart from FE I cant book a ticket for that area.....that is wrong.

Ofcourse that is the official line that unruly behaviour is not around anywhere. However, say that you do use a bit of strong language in the FE and someone complains about you to the stewards, is it something worth losing your membership over? I mean everyone knows what happens in the non FE areas, even the club but if they try to stop it we will be left with the fans in the FE only. The rule is relaxed around the ground but in the FE will strictly be adhered to.northbankbren wrote:Boomer your rite, if they dont book it family enclosure they have to pay adult price...another joke.
