would this ever happen if on the other foot, i'm guessing not. our fans had some harmless non violent fun, would the spuds fans only do as our fans did say 1 lonely gooner was on the same platform. i sadly think not!
Was anyone from here on that platform?
Would this be all that ever happen if the other way around

I'm afraid that the **** have an earned reputation for slapping ordinary, not out for trouble fans, kids, old women, dad's with their kids etc etc. I'm not "firm", "Herd" whatever and never have been, just been around and interested in football "culture" since the early 70s but from what I've heard and read, when it comes down to it, "toe to toe" we still give as good as we get against them.
Their fan base seems to have stayed a lot more "old school" than ours tho while ours has changed a lot over the years. I just have to look at the change in population around the Highbury & Islington areas since my early days to realise that. One end is very middle class, wealthy, who've moved up from Surrey types and the other end, people from around the world who possibly could'nt give a flying fuck about Arsenal, the **** or Accrington fucking Stanley if it came to it. I'm not saying these things are good or bad, just facts and the reason why our current support is a lot different from how I knew it in years long gone and why theirs clings on to a long gone age and why there is the difference.
Me? I'm old school, can't help it, it's my age
but I guess I'm a dying breed and the new ground will eventually be full of "****" types
Trying to stop that would be like doing a "King Canute" and trying to stop the tide coming in so I accept our fate, I just hope we continue to play the fantastic football we've seen over the last ten years and win trophies coz god help the club if Wenger leaves and we go back to mid table tottenhamesque obscurity.
Oh bollocks!!! got too serious there, just watched Vera Duckworth pop her clogs on Corry so I'm getting all old and maudlin. Back to being a big kid, drinkies and footy tomorrow
