Missing Eduardo

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Missing Eduardo

Post by sabastiane »

Not only because of Van Persie's injury. I was also watching the 07/08 review and he really was in form before the injury.

Yep, but he was never the same player after he assaulted St Martin Taylor, the most honest decent man in Engerland... :(

Methinks Eduardo's reaction to scoring the winner tonight suggests that he hasn't given up hope of one day returning.....

Still not sure how we let Eduardo go and kept Vela!

How dare you question Wenger?
He's a genius don't ya know, just look at our financial achievements for the last few years.

Admist the joke/sarcasnm DB10 hits on why he left. If Eduardo was mentally the same player as before the injury, he would probably still be at the club and why his link up play was still good, mentally he had to leave. Now he has gone away, he has thankfully rediscovered his calmness in front of goal and I am glad for him

Mind you, with the lack of service scapegoat Bendtner then Chamahk received, not sure Eduardo could have scored if he was playing for us tonight.

If you're missing him that much it only costs £4 to get into the Donbass.

Alternatively watch a re-run of his last 12 months for us - you'll stop missing him then.

Very good point. Still maintain that I'd have preferred a loan move for a season rather than selling him.

I still believe we should have loaned him out instead of selling him in order for him to regain his confidence in a league where there would not be as much spotlight on him to perform. When you are a classy finisher like he is you need confidence, something that unfortunately he didnt have after the Birmingham and Celtic incidents.

He was also a victim of Wengers new system, when he suffered his injury we would play 442 so there was a place for him in the side, sadly due to the new system of one up top he also found himself playing out of position on the left or down the pecking order but if he managed to gain his confidence I would always have him in the side ahead of Chamakh, Bendtner and Vela.

Not much we can do now but wish him well hope that he rediscovers his best form in the Ukraine.

I agree SteveO

The reason some our missing him is the guy who replaced him only scores when we are 5-0 up :banghead:

Even Lehman asked if he was on loan rather than being sold!

He simply was not cut out physically for the english game after his injury. He scored against us because we're shit at the back

some people need to get a grip .eddie was going to be a very good player for us untill taylor dun him,but his days were up in english football the physicallity was to much afterwards .its fine him turning in a performance against our would be hard men but the rest of the prem must have given him nightmares.and as for him coming back ,wot dyou mean like bobby.and while were at it bender a scapegoat, your doin my head in,he did a fantastic impersonation of a brick wall total f---ing pants,he never held his position ,hid behind thier midfield and imo proved himself at best a benchwarmer who will come on to prove his point but given the responsibility of starting can't rise to it.give me chamak every time he's got it all.

Well worth the long term contract offered last year. I mean, come on now...if we're 3-0 up at home to Wigan then who else will get the little dink over the keeper and fool the masses for another six months.

I posed the question a few weeks ago....when has he ever contributed positively to a Prem League or CL game that we haven't been winning at the time....

....still waiting

"He develops great youth talent" though apparently......zzzzzzzz

And how long was he given to regain that form?
