In Arsene we Trust

Post by M-50 »

Many writing off our chances prior to today so no doubt the bandwagon is well and truly top heavy.

Our next 10 games could yield 25 points (draws v Everton, Villa, Man U, Chel) maybe win one or two of them matches

If they lost today (currently losing) Chelsea's next 10 games could yield 17 points (draws away to Brum, ****, Newc, us, home draws v everton, villa, man u)

5 point difference could turn into us leading on Jan 1st.

Let's stay positive Gooners :barscarf:

We will not win the title as long as Wenger is our manager.

Hard to stay positive when you have Turnip as your manager.

If we were 20 points ahead of everyone at the top I swear he would find a way to fuck it up.

Emphasis on the COULD in that post. I could see Chelsea getting maximum points from there next 10 games.

These threads are pointless.

Not many would have predicted home defeats against West Brom & Newcastle, so you just have to accept that we're a jekyl and hyde team who doesn't always turn up... and predicting the next result, never mind the next 10, is folly.

It's not right that as soon as you see we're not passing well, that you just know you're in for a difficult afternoon. We need a plan B when the pretty passes fail to break the opposition down - then again, that's nothing knew. Although, stop gifting the opposition free goals would also help... but that's nothing knew either, sadly.

Oh, well. Onwards and upwards - or more of the same, more like...

How long do you think it will be until we hear that little gem again ?

There's an international friendly coming up in 10 days time as well, so another smoke screen he will hide behind.

Also I'm sure it was just a little bit of "inefficiency" that cost us today (rather than being utter cock from first whistle to last)

I reckon he's keeping the old JUDGE ME IN MAY in his back pocket, ready to be trotted out when either the media or (heaven forbid) enough fans turn on him and question his judgement.

In fairness when he tripped this out in 2007 for the first time I can recall...he didn't specify which May. Maybe in May 2014 we'll be the all conquering dream team he promises to make us. I mean it all makes sense now - put Vela, Fabianski, Denilson - on 5 year deals in 2009, then they're bound to mature into world beaters by the time their deals are up.

Yes, it all makes perfect sense now

Think our problem is that if we lose 1 game, we tend to draw or lose the next 3/4 before finding form. We never lose just one so whenever we do suffer a defeat after a good run, I know the next few games are going to be painful to watch. Lack of mental strength perhaps?
