As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So the Mayor of Moral Highgroundsville joins the real world - hopefully that will be an end to the moralising that normally comes out of his mouth on a whole range of issues.
Choosing to meet up in the airport and one of the highest profile hotels in the area too. Not very "intelligent" and not much "maturity" shown.
Still, I'm sure the divorce process will be "efficient"
Don't recall him moralising on whether or not people have affairs
Maybe not directly but quick to lecture on players having good families around them and showing maturity. Hope he explains this one to his 13 year old daughter with the same "intelligence" he supposedly shows the rest of us.
Hopefully the whole sorry saga will see him end up as PSG as manager so he can be close to his new chav on the block
Shut up you sanctimonious prick.
Sure you don't read the Sun?
Ha ha - you and Louder together down the youth club posting words that you can't understand.
Priceless - keep up the good work. We need more laughs around here :awnker:

See your now giving responses like a Sun reader.
If you find words like Sanctimonious too complex for the lay person to understand you quite clearly are a Sun reader.

Where as coming on here and opening up with "Shut up you prick" has you down as more of a Guardian man does it ?
Honestly mate - stick to colouring your books in please
Out of interest - what offended you so badly about my comments to start with ?

I'm just rather sick of the hypocritical shit the Sun constantly pours out over the private lives of public figures, which when you look at the private lives of it's proprietor and his gold digging wife neither live up to themselves. Neither do it's journalists who are currently up for bugging people's phones to get news stories.
I'm sick of the way it forefronts trival shit like Wenger's private life when we face the worst social upheavals since the great depression.
I'm sick of the way it writes down to the reading level of a 12 year old and it's thick readership regurgitate its every word without question and acknowledgement of any hidden agenda from Murdoch's corporation.
And I'm depressed beyond words when people who claim to be Arsenal supporters use this story as a stick to beat the club's most successful ever manager like the ungrateful bastards they are.

Has that answered your question?
Well sort of.....
There's nothing I disagree with in your first 3 paragraphs - far from it. As for the bit about people who claim to be Arsenal fans using it against him......I think the reality of the situation is that those that are against him couldn't really give a shit about this private life issue. It is entirely to do with how they see the club being managed. You might not agree with it - fine that's your view. I wouldn't say that they makes them all ungrateful bastards and I don't think you can just label them as people who "claim" to be Arsenal fans. Apart from a small handful of clubs there are always divided opinions about the manager of a club, its players, its transfer policies etc.
However, lazy papers like the Sun also build the guy up to being some sort of halo-wearing Professor (they even refer to him as that in the article) who is morally correct in everything he says and does. This should serve as a reminder to those people, who personally I find as equally irritating as the ones you mention, that the guy is far from that.
I couldn't give a shit what he does in his private life. I would just prefer that he sticks to his job as manager of Arsenal and stops short of pretending to be some form of politician / economist / academic.
Not sure why that makes me a sanctimonious prick but each to their own
Steve O I would make you 100% correct - I have been saying for the past 2 and a half seasons that wenger should go simply cos his performance as manager of our club is not acceptable imo but aside from that I really could not give a fcuk who the guy knobs in his spare time Fact is that some fans are happy to read and believe shit in the papers when it is hailing their manager as jesus christ reincarnate without ever questioning if some of the stuff is an absolute exageration but yet choose to slate these very same hacks when they exagerate a negative story.......no level of consistancy there people.
But something strikes me as different with this Wenger story, just a hunch but Wenger's statement said nothing about it being untrue and it would have been just as easy for him to have put out a very similar statement which added the story was false.
If true, and my previous comments on this thread have been as if it is, which actually is bad on my part, but if true it shows a manager losing his grip in a way supposedly very out of character for one who has spoken publicly about "controlling emotions" and discipline.
If untrue Wenger would sue The Sun for a lot of money, but no telling if such legal action would be made public.

I was angry today and then was thinking how ungrateful I really am.
But I realised that I pay money for that shit and I felt a bit better.
