EVERTON AWAY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great win, hard fought but fully deserved. Fantastic support up there too, couldn't have asked for more.

Yes, Wenger knows!

Ramon, Wenger didn't predict Chelsea would drop points at home against Sunderland, did he? - no, he didn't. He made the rather general, and obvious, comment that Chelsea will drop points.

Fuck me, I could have predicted that!

Oh, and by the way, Wenger has also predicted many things in the past and got them wrong - so I'm not sure he's quite the oracle you take him for!
I missed the match until last night, I thought be played pretty dam well. Everton are a tough team to beat, we nearly showboated ourselves in to trouble. But a really good win, and where was our Dan Benny Boy???

Got back just in time to see Motd2, what happened to Chelski? :o Of course the emphasis all went on how they missed their main two central defenders

But onto Arsenal, thought we played well yesterday, Djourou was fantastic in the air against Cahill and it was probably the best I'd seen him
play! Clichy is really off the mark at the moment, the young everton lad.. (granted he is very talented) Coleman always looked capable of beating Clichy.. He just doesn't fill me with confidence anymore :?

All in all I really liked Goodison.. First time I've been there and was a proper English football ground :barscarf:

I think a lot of the negativity on here is not right - I mean if Utd or the chavs had oull this one off it would have been UTD win Ugly - I dont give a crap if we played rubbish as long as we took the 3 points - thts it. Plus I dont think Song didn’t give the ball away any more often, or was he more unsuccessful in tackles or interceptions, than any of our other central midfield players. Compare his stats on the guardian chalkboards and you’ll see the facts for yourself. Regarding the criticism of the subs i think I would have to disagree, AW put Denilson on for more possesion. Rosicky, because he is good at defending down the flank. Taking Chamack and putting on a defensive player when there is little time left, need I say more?

Agree people shouldn't be negative....BUT if we watch a game we are all going to see faults as people are not perfect and Song DID give the ball away so many times yesterday , and it is fraustrating that he goes forward so much as I feel it is restricting Wilshere. Wenger does deserve a lot of credit for bringing Denilson on as it was this kind of game he was needed but Eboue for Chamakh I felt was suicidal!! Where was our outlet?? That invited Everton on to pile the pressure on us! Anyway Great day and great win - things are looking up in the fickle world of football - bring on the scum on saturday! As long as they dont park the bus and they attack us - we will murder them!
