My first away game was Sheff. Wed away in 1995 with my dad. I was about 4/5ish and we were in their end. It was a 0-1 loss i believe.

I remember leaving at half time cos i didn't like the noise

But what i remember more is getting a 'ham the pig' toy story toy from my happy meal, and eating a big burger in an american style diner on the way home.

My second was Chelsea away in 1997. 3-0 win. Anelka made his debut. The chelsea catering amounted to dolly mixtures in small bags on a table.
Class

FECK ME, I'VE JUST REMEMBERED AN EVEN EARLIER AWAY MATCH I WENT TO. 8) IT WAS THE FOURTH AND FINAL FA CUP REPLAY AGAINST SHEFF WEDNESDAY THAT WAS PLAYED AT LEICESTER'S FILBERT STREET, BACK IN 1979.

WE WON THE GAME 2-O AND I REMEMBER BOOKING TICKETS ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH AND THEN HAVING TO RUSH TO TAKE OUT TRAVEL CLUB MEMBERSHIP IN ORDER TO GET UP THERE (I WAS ONLY 15 SO COULDN'T DRIVE THEN). ANOTHER THING THAT SPRINGS TO MIND IS THAT AFTER THE MATCH OUR COACH HAD A BRICK THROWN THROUGH IT'S WINDOWS - ALTHOUGH WHETHER IT WAS THE SHEFF WED FANS OR THE LEICESTER MOB, I'M NOT QUITE SURE!!

I ALSO REMEMBER THAT I WAS REALLY PISSED OFF THAT I COULDN'T GET A TICKET FOR THE FINAL WITH MAN UTD THAT YEAR, BUT BY BROTHER-IN-LAW WHO WENT TO ARSENAL MATCHES LESS THAN I DID, MANAGED TO GET ONE THROUGH HIS THEN GIRLFRIEND'S ARSENAL SUPPORTING DAD. :x

My first away game was away at leicester in 1997, making me only 6/7 years old.

It just happened to be the day that the flying dutchman scored his most memorable of hat tricks.

IT WAS THE FIRST AWAY MATCH OUT OF LONDON THAT I WENT UP TO ON MY OWN AND, APART FROM THE RESULT, HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE (I THINK! MY MEMORY ISN'T WHAT IT ONCE WAS   ).
I remember this one as well. Even when we were leading 1-0 there was a kind of inevitability that we would lose..... I could be wrong on this, but didn't we also lose to Utd in the semi final of the League Cup that year as well. Lost 1-4 at home and then took thousands up to Old Trafford for the 2nd leg. I remember the mancs getting annoyed because we were so noisy and enjoying ourselves, even though we eventually went out 2-6 on aggregate!

My first away game? I think this was either:
a 2-2 draw (we were 2-0 up at half time) away to the scum. I watched this standing with my spud mates on the shelf. OR, as 1-3 defeat at Ipswich when my mum & dad gave me and my mate a lift and then went shopping in the town centre - neither of them having the slightest interest in football!

INDEED YOU'RE RIGHT. THE YEAR WAS 1983 AND WE LOST THE FIRST LEG OF THE LEAGUE CUP SEMI AT HIGHBURY 2-4 AND THE SECOND LEG AT OLD TRAFFORD 1-2, SO IN FACT IT WAS 6-3 ON AGGREGATE TO UNITED.

My first away match was against sp*rs in October 1987 (i was 16) they took the lead in 90 seconds through claasen the we turned it around Mickey Thomas and Rocky scoring after 4 and 14 minutes we won 2-1 and it really was a baptism of fire for me there were fights everywhere and when we scored i lost my 2 mates i was with, the away end exploded with those goals.

If anyone remembers it it was the game after pleat got caught kerb crawling and there were blow up dolls and banners everywhere. That'll live in my memory for ever

Away to Norwich. Can't remember the year but 1987 sonds about right. I can remember getting showered with coins at the Norwich end.

We had great fun on the way up. A small fiat (127/128 something like that) with City fans in was giving us abuse as we followed it on the ring road. We overtook and stopped blocking it in with the car behind as well. We all jumped out and held the doors shut whilst one of us undid his wheel nuts for a laugh. Happy days

I was at that one, still queueing up to get in when Claesen scored and also missed our equalizer. There were untold gooners there that day, all over the place and I just got in the crowd as we scored the winner. I remember all the pleat stuff and I still have my "spurs boss is caught kerb crawling" t-shirt that I wore to that game stashed away in a cupboard somewhere
