Cesc

Post by Rob Admin »

I have to say I thought Cesc was great first half, we were winning and everything was rosey.

Contrast this with the reaction to the 3rd spurs goal. As the players turned to re-gather and kick-off I saw the no rallying cry, no suppoert of the lads just a lone figure jogging back to the centre circle. Is that what we expect from our Captain against our biggest rivals?

How long are were we unbeaten at home to them - 1993 wasn't it. Look at all of the captains we have had since then who were unbeaten in this fixture. Cesc is arguable the best footballer of the lot but the poorest Captain if we judge the reaction and result today.

Take the £40m in January I say.

Who else would you of had as Captain on that pitch today though? There were no leaders on the pitch.

We have 11 leaders anyway if you believe Turnip so what does it matter Cesc not "rallying the troops"?

As for 40m, Barcelona don't have that money.

Its not just down to Cesc to rally the troops though, we have no defence, no tactical nous, no professsionalism and no bollocks, its fucking pathetic, and its all down to Wenger who has had 5 fucking years to do something about it and has done FUCK ALL

The team reflects Fabregas' attitude which today was arrogant - trying tricks and being complacent at the end if the first half like its won - moaning and thinking its their divine right to win without grafting. No one player was atrocious but the attitude was lazy and obnoxious and that comes from the captain and in turn the manager.

Aside from TV, this is our best team!

What I said to Cesc on Twitter:

''Well done, you had no need to hand ball it but you did, well done.''

Awaiting a reply which I know I won't get.

How do yuo think Adams would have reacted to their 3rd goal, or Keown or Vieria?

I'm not blaming him for the defeat, but the reaction was missing.

Why are you comparing him to Adams and Vieira? Cesc has never been a leader, just given the armband to stop him leaving.

I have ALWAYS said that Cesc should of NEVER of been given the armband.

We made a mistake not giving it to Gilberto then made a mistake of not giving it to Toure.

Adams, Keown and Vieira would have been going mental, but then they are the sort of players who know what games against the **** mean, Wrighty, Parlour, Merse and Rocky (R.I.P) all knew the importance, nowadays the players dont give a fuck, they can pick up their £100,000 a week wages, drive home to their mansions and not give a fuck, they wont have to face up to the *word censored* at work, etc, football has changed and not for the better

Ah yes, the old the players don't care and it was all better when the players cared so much, they wrecked their bodies by getting drunk argument.

Cesc is not the shouting, screaming type of captain, he wasn't screaming and rallying in the first half but he created a goal and probed Spurs defence. More concerning was he led by example in his second half act of stupidity. He is not going to do a Terry but if he is going to lead by example, less whining on the pitch would help

They cared a whole lot more than the current spineless lot ever will.

The old cliche has always been that a team’s character is a reflection of its manager’s. That’s why during Ferguson’s 25-year reign at Utd he’s had countless different teams but they’ve nearly all shared the same qualities in terms of spirit and attitude. Likewise it’s why this Arsenal team shares the same mental flaws as the one of a few seasons ago despite consisting of at least half a team’s worth of different individuals. Even the Invincibles suffered from it in the end - the way we semi-collapsed after Utd ended our unbeaten run being an example. And seeing as our teams are increasingly made up of players reared by Wenger from the start of their careers, the team is increasingly becoming a reflection of Wenger mentally. And Wenger is mental.
