Re: had to happen
Fair enough mate, but I wasn’t arguing our record was good & I still don’t think I’ve seen all that much evidence of Arry getting them to produce great, passionate derby performances.donaldo wrote:Hate to blow your arguement out of the water since 'Arry took over at the Swamp we have played 5 league games our record is W 1 D 2 L 2.Thats 5 points out of a possible 15 Thats nothing to laugh aboutIts Up 4 Grabs Now wrote:I wouldn’t be so sure on today’s evidence. They were truly abysmal in the first half and should have been dead & buried. And they weren’t all that much better in the second. We handed them the points today, they didn’t even have to work that hard to win them. Add to that the 4-1 in the beer cup and the 3-0 at home last season & they’ve been pretty shit against us under Onest Arry apart from the 2-1 at the shithole.Which is why it’s so frustrating. It did have to happen sometime but it didn’t have to happen today.Dan_85 wrote:A shit team who are showing a whole lot more ambition than we are as a club & who have now beaten us both home & away in the league in 2010. Not to mention the fact that Harry seems to have instilled in them exactly what a local derby means & they can go out & do what needs to be done to get the win.legend10 wrote: There still a shit team and we still only 2 points of the top
Of those 5 games we've had…
- Today: They were shit & we somehow contrived to throw it away.
- 2-1 to them at SHL: The one example of them putting in the type of performance Dan described.
- 3-0 last October: They were shit again, but for Eddie’s Jeffers impression we’d have won 5-0.
- 0-0 at SHL: Pretty insipid from both teams, we had 10 men & they still didn’t really look like winning.
- 4-4: Again, but for us throwing it away in the last 4 minutes they’d have lost 4-2 having been generally outplayed.
As I say, I’m not arguing that our record in that time is good or that we haven’t ultimately got what we’ve deserved. Just that they’ve hardly been putting in great performances themselves. We’ve thrown a lot of those points away, rather than them earning them. Which is what makes it so frustrating. It's not a defence of us or Wenger, more to say that we've made them & Redknobb look better than they are.

Ok...it took me a while, but I've calmed down(the wife still feel differently)
FFS why?
I would have accepted any other display, except this load of crap I watched today.
2 nil and we fcuked it up, against a crap team.
As much as I supported AW, I feel he has lost it big time
What did he tell the team at half time to motivate them?
As much as I believe Rafa Benitez was a poor tactician, I feel "Le Prof" is heading down the same road. How bad can he allowed to be and for how long?
1.Why did he bring in Kos6?, This French connection is worrying, when Djourou was slow but good in the last few games he played.
2.Why take off Chammy, for RVP when RVP hasn't played in ages?
3. Back to point 1, Why , if you know the cnuts are gonna either play the albatross, or bring him on as a substitute, don't you field your tallest defender?
4. We can actually acknowledge that hoof-ball works for lower teams.
5. I love alcohol..and that is my only silver lining after the sh1t I witnessed today

Robsy I like your posts but I really think the defeat was down to the manager in part.Robsy wrote:
It's got f*ck all to do with the manager and everything to do with the players on the day.
MegaGooner has listed most of the reasons.
Tactics during a game, substitutions, lack of awareness on how to cope with set pieces, lack of depth in defensive midfield.
What do they have in common?
The have all been faults of ours for four or so seasons and either Wenger cannot see this, or he is not successfully doing anything about them.
I like what he does in terms of developing youth players and finding bargains in the transfer window, I like the aesthetics of our style, but I am getting very worried about Wenger's ability to ever win the league for us again.
