A MANAGER TO GET US BACK WHERE WE BELONG
You'd be crying for him to come back within 6 months. All those fancy names are all very well and good but you give m one of those that have transformed a club like Wenger has or done a qurater of as well with the same kind of resources.
I'm not saying he couldn't do a lot of things better or is without fault but to qualify for the CL every single season in the most competitive league in the world and only spend money generated by selling players is unheard of. Without him we would most likely have been archived just about as much as Aston Villa over the last 12 years.
The thought of Mourinho at The Arsenal makes me feel ill. As funny as his press confrences are I can't bring myself to watch ay of his teams, I've tried to watched Real Madrid 2 or 3 times this season but just can't do it, it's so boring it hurts to watch! [/b]

Same. The prospect of winning trophies for a change makes me feel ill too.JakeN13 wrote:You'd be crying for him to come back within 6 months. Yeah we wouldnt want a manger who wins trophies wherever his goes,a manager who has won 2 CL's with different clubs a manager who has not lost a home league game for 8 and a half years,a tactical genius when we have Wenger who wins nothing for 5 seasons, his team loses at home to two of the promoted teams and who thinks tactics are mints.Yes lets be happy we have good old ArseneJakeN13 wrote:You'd be crying for him to come back within 6 months. You mean not playing the 'right' way or by spending lots of money.JakeN13 wrote:Winning silverware the way Chelsea have done it would mean nothing to me....
If the former I suggest that the 'right' way is the way that wins and if the latter I assume you disown all our success in the 1930's which was in large part built by the chequebook (as indeed was our first double under Wenger in 1998, a point often missed). Use as much money as you can afford.

Mourinho for me, he would'nt stand for the spineless, passionless shite we've witnessed this week
and he'd get us back to the days when we were hated, good
He'd wind people up left right and centre and generally ruffle many feathers and be on a one man mission to fuck chelsea over. Oh, and did'nt his teams at chelsea smash the **** virtually everytime he played them?
I'm sick of pretty patacake football with very little end result, give me back my "boring boring Arsenal" please

If you asked any club in europe if they would take any one of the above instead of Wenger, the only one they'd pick would be Mourinho!goonersid wrote:In response to the totally pointless "players to get us back where we belong" thread.
And to be used as a future reference by the AKB, instead of the usual "who would replace him" shite that they usually come up with.
Hiddink
Rijkaard
Van Gaal
Mourinho (probably missed the boat here, but you never know)
Koemann (with DB as assistant)
Moyes
O' Neill (simply to restore passion and committment)
Coyle (a gamble but could do worse)
You may not agree with them all and I'm sure some won't agree with any
As with any gooner im frustrated at the current situation but you can't underestimate what Arsene has done for us as a club. And we WILL win something this season!

I honestly can't understand people's obsession with winning 'the right way'. That attitude is the exact same fucking attitude employed by the Spuds for decades and more recently the pratt we currently have in charge. It gets you nowhere.
There is no 'right way'. They only way is the winning way.
So wake the fuck up people. We're here to win, not to make art!
PS - Spuds seem to have dropped the old 'beautiful football' approach and are now actually making progress.

Wow, you're sticking your neck out there. Got Wigan at home in QF of League Cup.cheryl_wants_eboue wrote:If you asked any club in europe if they would take any one of the above instead of Wenger, the only one they'd pick would be Mourinho!goonersid wrote:In response to the totally pointless "players to get us back where we belong" thread.

Would you be so confident if this wasn't in the equation?

Capello is the man regardless of his International record. International football is unique and club managers with great records rarely succeed there. Capello's record in domestic leagues and the CL is outstanding!
Martin O'Neill is a one trick pony who plays big lumps at CH and big lumps up front and gets tricky wingers to fling the ball in from the wing or at set pieces - see Wycombe Wanderers, Leicester City and Villa for examples!!

Not really, they're still playing decent football this season and they haven't resorted to shit tactics like hoofing the ball up there and hoping something happens. They try to pass the ball around on the ground and only use the long ball option when they have crouch up there. Otherwise they keep the ball on the ground and play decent football. Certainly not dropped the 'beautiful football'.frankbutcher wrote:PS - Spuds seem to have dropped the old 'beautiful

I'm going to throw in some suggestions from left-field:
A) Michael Laudrup, assisted by John Jensen.
Worked together successfully at Brondby and Getafe. Jensen did not move with Laudrup to Mallorca, as he took the management job at Randers FC, from whom he was sacked recently.
B) Didier Deschamps
Won the league and cup double last season, their first title in nearly twenty years.
C) Steve Bruce
(Just have a feeling he would do a good job - no real logic to this one..
