Wenger's mistress pregnant

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sincerely hope this leads to his resignation. Not holding my breath though.

Bring Back Pires wrote:Amidst all the jokes (and apathy) about AW's personal 'developments', one thing I haven't read too much about is how the stress might be affecting his performance as Arsenal manager.

Since the news first broke on November 7, we've lost three out of our five games. That totals up to four in six when taking into account the game on November 3, when rumblings about this possible story were surfacing.

Now whether or not the alleged shenanigans are true, it must be having a psychological impact on AW to a great extent, and it's certainly questionable that the stress is preventing him from fully focusing on doing his best for us. Results would indicate that could well be the case. He certainly hasn't been his occasional jovial self at press conferences or post-match interviews either.

I'm by no means excusing our poor form because of this scandal; in fact, it's the exact opposite. If his personal life is interfering with his duties for AFC, then it's yet another stick to beat him with, and a genuine reason for a possible early departure should things go even further downhill - both on and off the field.
I would say that it has had some type of impact. As he is supposed to be a father figure for many of the young lads, surely his position is now untenable. How can he discipline players for their indescretions, like fergie has done to rooney, when his behaviour is just as bad if not worse? I would say his behaviour has clearly devalued the Arsenal, and in a manner of speaking worse than the misdemeanour George Graham committed. Like any fallen leader he needs to do the right thing and step down as no one at the club has got the balls to tell him to go.
