Help Wanted...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Help Wanted...

Post by I Hate Hleb »

Now I apologise in advance because the subject matter could be considered taste-less, but I promised a mate I'd try and get help for him.

Anyway, this friend of mine was given a car by his father-in-law a year ago that has the following number plate... Y1DD0!!!  Seriously, he does.

Now being a big gooner, he never drives the fecker - for obvious reasons - but his mrs does and the other day she was followed by some bloke for miles until she pulled over, upon which he said he'd offer her £1,500 for it. Even the official Registration place offered her £2,000 for it but my mate thinks it's worth more.

As he has just been made redundant, he is hoping to make some nice cash from the Number Plate by selling it to some Spurs supporter with more money than sense!!!

So the question is: what would be a realistic price he could expect (and two bob, although morally accurate, doesn't qualify as an answer!!) and what is the best way to go about selling this number plate, apart from E-Bay, so that he can maximise the money he gets from this monstrosity?

Any car with that kind of plate needs two or three gallons of fuel over the seats and a lit match put to it..............

i would say e bay, but this kind of thing could make REAL money (10k+) if he can get the word out and get the right people to know it's up for grabs now*.
i reckon his best bet is to try and get an interview with a spurs fanzine/official program if he's really lucky, and pretend he doesn't really like football (and is CERTAINLY not a gooner) but has heard tottenham fans call themselves ****

I would suggest a Tottenham forum to begin with. I think you could get around £5-10k.

Maybe start a thread on their asking how much people would pay. At least that way you could get a gage before deciding to sell elsewhere.

Good luck with selling it. I love the idea of some swamp dweller paying through the nose for a piece of trash.

You could make about £15 - 20 k from that.

Market it to Spurs Box Level holders.

Approach the club, get a Box Holder with more money than sense to buy it to impress his mates or as a present.
