We've beaten the kids!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We've beaten the kids!

Post by Rob Admin »

Let the moppets have their day out I say!

It's been far too long since they've had a day out in a final. Personally I was genuinely pissing myself laughing last night at the final whistle. The look on their faces at the end was a joy to behold. A look of pure ecstasy and disbelief - "We're going to Wembley - yes we're going to W-E-M-B-L-E-Y!".

How many other teams can afford to field half a team of kids in a semi-final to see if they're good enough for the first team. Incredible!

Rob.

no! as much as it pains me to say spurs were miles more up for it than us. i thnk they know it was their only chance of silverwear, our kids were playing for a place in the first team.

Ramos seems to get them fired up thats for sure. is martin jole still collecting his dole money?

No, the spuds have improved. Having said that, last night was a freak performance for them. They won't play like that again this season.
It really showed the gulf between the two clubs. It was a massive achievement for them but an exercise in developing players for us. We're on a different level to them.

I have no problem with anything you have siad Rob but the situation now is we have played the kids, seen that they aint good enough and I want to know what are we going to do now ? If wenger does not step into the transfer market over this then he should be pulled over the coals - I am not making this assessment because the y*ds beat us but because we have seen that in both legs our "reserves" are not up to the challenge yet and some maybe never will. Wenger talks about wanting to show faith in the kids but the bottom line is that he is employed by the club and therefore is meant to do what is best for the club not any one players career. Again I have zero problem in putting out the kids last night and losing and imo it is preferable to putting out the 1st team and winning but where we go from here and what steps we make to correct our shortcomings is vital right now. Sadly I see wenger sticking with what he has got

to be fair the souds were just far more up for it, they closed us down and made us look very inept, im gutted about it, but put it down to a one off, which we've had a few of over the years, let em have there day, we've been very spoilt against those clowns and id take another 9 years before they beat us again!

can't wait for sat now to see what were really made of.just hope they dont prove me wrong!

So our second string is better then most midtable clubs but put out a whole string of them, shove Hoyte inside and we can't hope to take on a team that probably should have been fighting for 5th place or even 4th if not for the board. Meanwhile Man U's can not get past Coventry City so I'm not too concerned
