And up until the last few weeks hasnt villa been widely castigated by all and sundry in spain for his performances at barca ? There have been many in spain who were suggesting that villa couldnt hack it and didnt have the mentality to prosper in a big club and others that suggested that he looked better in a small pond than he actually is so the point being that just cos another player is playing out of position too doesnt make it the right decision. Let me also say this in defence of arshavin, if you want him to be as influencial as he should be then play him in a position where he is constanly involved in the game - I will 100% guarantee you that there is no way Dennis Bergkamp would have been half the player he was with us if wenger marooned him out on the wing like that and arshavin is one of the very few players in world football, much less our club, that has the talent and eye for a pass that Bergkamp did 8)

Firstly Arshavin is a great player but he has a long way to go to be as good as bergkamp. Also have you ever seen bergkamp look so disinterested. If Arshavin actually put some effort in then he would be a great player on wing.

Villa has scored an decent number of goals for someone on the wing.

Never said arshavin was as good as Bergkamp but I did say that bergkamp wouldnt have been anywhere near as good if he was played out on the wing and indeed if he was surrounded by as many average players as arshavin currently is :(

Arshavin is one of our best players but he just isn't pulling his weight. He is fine in that position and if he wants to (see villa game) then he can be great in that position. In 433 then the left and right wingers are more like strikers.

arshavin hasnt been in the best form for a while now. yet he has a good number of goals and assists. For all his frustrations, he is the exactly the kind of player you pay your money to go see. Hope he can push on from last saturdays improved performance :barscarf:

Sure ... write his name correctly without looking at the official website. I can't do that.
