The Wenger out brigade, of which I'm one I'll admit, will be screaming 'Wenger back in' if he gets a lifetime job upstairs. His hand will be on everything. Our own little Abramovic if u like but without the cash.

Hope there is some truth in this.

Owen Coyle is a class manager. Like a Scottish Pep Guardiola.

I don't think he would (or should) have too much influence on the managerial side of things and will probably concentrate on what he does best - making the club money.

That's exactly what I mean - Wenger in charge of the purse strings for life!

Exactly .
And would you like to be that Manager coming in knowing that the Shadow
of the Man looms in every nook and cranny of the grove . Could you see a high profile Man coming in under those circumstances knowing that Arsene takes the Piggy bank home every night and sleeps with it under the Pillow and has to work under what would still be his regime .

Sketch in the Simpsons this week, Bart was moaning to Millhouse about walking in on Homer and Marge having sex. Millhouse replied thank your lucky stars you walked in on two of em, it's worse when it's one.

Would be a typical wenger move........install a manager that he can manipulate as he see's fit instead of hiring a strong willed manager that will make his own decisions  Personally I believe appointing coyle would sum up perfectly the "settle for cheap/lack of ambition policy that runs right through our club nowadays

Please clarify my highlighted points as I don't understand how you have come to such conclusions from the comfort of your armchair. Owen coyle is easily manipulated ? Do you know Owen ?.
Lack of ambition ? We're top, ahead of Chelski, one of the biggest spending clubs in the history of ENGLISH football. O.K. we may not win it ( League title ), which I've little doubt would cheer you up no end, but if we DID win it, the thought of you celebrating makes me feel sick with anger. Anyway, I digress, can you expain. Cheers old chap

The one that haunts me the most was the semi final loss to the Mancs in 03/04. That should have been another double season.

Playing Alliardiere up front :banghead:
