IT SEEMS that Arsenal are determined to do things the hard way this season.
Their defensive frailties continue to give opposition hope and manager Arsene Wenger confesses it is his fault there could be another stressful 90 minutes ahead against Partizan Belgrade tonight.
The Gunners were on course to stroll through Group H as winners after chalking up their third successive Champions League victory with a 5-1 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk in October.
But Wenger decided it was time to gamble and rested some of his big hitters for the trips to Donetsk and Braga last month.
The result was two defeats that mean Arsenal must beat Partizan at the Emirates to be sure of qualification.
Their hopes of topping the group – and avoiding a potential last-16 clash against Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich – rest on the unlikely event of Braga beating leaders Shakhtar.
There is also the small matter of a Premier League trip to Manchester United next Monday.
Despite his insistence that game will not affect tonight’s team selection, Wenger would no doubt have liked the luxury of resting more players. Central defender Laurent Koscielny will face Partizan despite suffering concussion in the victory over Fulham on Saturday.
But Cesc Fabregas – although he is believed to have had his wisdom teeth removed to ease the strain on his troublesome hamstrings (excuse my ignorance but how do wisdom teeth impact his hammy's?)– is not ready and is rated as “a bit under 50 per centâ€

Its not worth thinking about. This is the only reason i want us to win tonight. If it wasnt for Europa i wouldnt give a toss about the tonight.Chippy wrote:Naki, copy and pasting without attribution is frowned on here.
Personally if we go a goal down and Braga go a goal up, I reckon my strawberry will pack up.
Can you imagine the shit we will get from all the scum when they are in the draw for the CL while we're in the Europa Cup.
All i care about is the leauge.
