1989 Season DVD

1989 Season DVD

Post by Boomer »

I been thinking this a while and DB10 just reminded me in his comment about watching a season review Dvd.
I've got the 1989 review season on good old Vhs but I don't own a video player no longer.

I've seen you can get the full match at Anfield "Its up for grabs"

Can you get the 1989 season on Dvd?
Did I recall seeing it as part of the members pack and/or part of another Dvd like the the 1991 season?

I remember trying to get hold of one as far back as 97' but had no joy then, haven't tried recently though.

yeah, but the quality is shit...

i managed to download it, but it's a version of the season review made for ATVO or something like that some time ago. it's not very good, but at least you get to see almost all goals (nope, not all of them are there, only from the league and a few from the cups).

i think you'll remember boomer, i watched it, then came to the forum to mention how marwood looked like a brilliant player and then you told us your story as a kid (and that picture) :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I vaguely remember that. Still the video are moments that are trapped in a vhs box.

Cool! 8)

Let me know if you find it.
I'm suprised the club don't sale it. If even by this thread as some short straw poll is to go by it would seem a popular item.

I've still got the original VHS tape that I made on the night!! Haven't owned a video player in years but I could NEVER bring myself to chuck this tape away.

I think I'll put a bit in my will asking for it to be stuck in my coffin when I pop my clogs - I'm sure I'll be able to find a VHS player in heaven (or hell ) and spend eternity watching the best 92 minutes of my life over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . . . . . . . . .

Maybe this is an idea for an item to be included in next years membership packs?

Old season reviews that were never available on DVD, starting with 1989?

However, I do know for a fact that there are no master tapes left at all of the 1990/91 season.

Why was that?

That's the next video I want Flash to burn....don't tell him as I haven't asked.

You might remember the 'Great moments' montage which ran pre match at Highbury for a few seasons, back in 2002 / 2004 ish.

REDaction put together a massive list of certain goals / trophy celebrations / other famous incidents from the last 30 years, and all were dug out and edited togther by Granada, but they admitted they could not add any highlights from the 90-91 season as the master tapes had become corrupted or something.

What do you think about the membership pack idea, Boomer?

Well, if I get a dvd of either the 89 and the 91 season I'm happy.
I'm not one for a full match re-run.

I have both the '89 and '91 reviews on DVD. I also got the '93 and '94 on DVD too. I got them from another gooner forum user. The '89 DVD quality is pretty good! :barscarf:
