To be fair, they did, but only against us it seems. They scored two goals for their whole campaign. Guess against who?
Incorrect.

They scored a total of 11 goals in their whole campaign
4 goals in round 2 qualifying and 5 in round 3 :-P

We wont win it

We are not the worst team in the 16...seeded fifth best....and we will only see the usual set up.....Barce win it

I cant agree at all with the notion you think we are the worst team....Liverpool didnt score 18 goals in the group stage when they won it.....and we would NEVER get the luck they got that year
Sammy we scored 18 goals but lost to teams we beat 5-1 and 6-0 that is a shocking stat.In 2006 in the knockout stage we scored 4 goals on the way to the final conceding none. This team just cant defend. We had probably the easiest draw of all and finished 2nd :banghead:

Very sloppy performance but hey ho, we are through to the last 16 and anything can happen! Stupid of Sagna though to get himself sent off. Should have just let the guy have a go at goal. We were 3-1 up and Braga were losing 0-2 at that stage so it didn't even matter if they'd scored.

What crap commentary though on ITV.... How many Arsenal fans do you know who gave a flying fuck whether we scored more goals in the qualifying games than Spurs....? They made it sound like that was our main concern!

Completely ignore the fact that for both defeats we had second string sides out.

Another frustrating night, but again the lads came on strong late and got the job done. :barscarf:

Was impressed with Song tonight, really was much more influencial in the tackle. Apart from the goal we dont well. Sagna stupid red, but apart from that had one of his best games in a while.

THANK GOD WERE THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree totally with what Don has said here, it's not just our defence is poor, the line in front of them (I.E. last night, Denilson and Song) are just not up to shielding them properly, they're either caught too far up field, caught in possession, or especially in Denilson's case, if he attempts a pass over 5 yards it goes straight to the opposition, then we're on the back foot again.

Wenger has got to get a more defensive minded, holding midfield player, or we're win fuck all ever again. (that's important anyway) :?

Yeah he was pretty poopy. I'd rather play Nordveit in the anchor role to be honest, it's where he played all season for Nurnberg on loan.

Good proof of why 4-4-2 won't work for us. No runners from central midfield, too static and the different lines of the team too far apart to provide movement and changes of position to open teams up around the penalty box. Fair enough we did play poorly anyway and picking Denilson ahead of Wilshere was just wrong but we did look far less fluent in attack with that system with no real improvement in defence.

Never mind, through to the last 16 grinding out a result when not playing well, just hope we get Schalke/Bayern and don't regret throwing the group away.

I couldn't go last night as wife is being induced today... so I watched on TV and I have to say Song was poor last night. He gave the ball away a lot and only redeemed himself with a lovely bot of skill for Nasri's goal. We were ok last night and nobody really had a good game.
