Almunia wants first-team action

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't get the anger towards Almunia. I mean, yes he's shit, but he doesn't pick himself in the team.

For a few years he was rotated with Jens and could never make the number one jersey his until Jens was leaving.

He had to spend the whole summer watching Arsenal desperately try to sign a very mediocre keeper to replace him. Then watch it fall through and be told he's still number one, then be dropped with a mysterious "injury" and it made clear he's no longer wanted at the club.

Through all this he didn't gob off once. Fair play to him. He's getting on a bit in years so of course he's going to want regular first team football, who wouldn't. As long as it's not with us, I hope he gets it and has a good final few years of his career.
