Spuds - you've had your fun, but now the party is over!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Spuds - you've had your fun, but now the party is over!

Post by MK Gould »

Hopefully, the Spurs fans have got the celebration, goating, baiting etc out of their system. And as they slowly begin to sober up will go back to the day to day reality of their plight. In case some of you, in your grief, have forgotten:

- Spurs have Man Utd away in the FA Cup this weekend......
- Spurs are playing Chelsea in the Carling Cup Final......a nice friendly occasion and one they'll be hot favourites to lose!
- Spurs next two Premier League games are Everton away and.....Man Utd at home!
- .....and in case you have forgotten, Spurs are currently 27 points behind Arsenal in the table. Another way of looking at this is that we have exactly twice as many points as them - and we are still on target to celebrate St Totteringham's day at the end of February!

In 9 years they have have one day of joy. They were hoping Everton would win because they would have fancied there chances against them. But now they will be facing full strength Chelski team with Terry Lumpard, Mikel, Kalou and Drogba back.

When one is starved of success, thrashing your local rivals 5-1 in a cup semi final is going to taste so sweet. Would we have stopped talking about it had we done the same to them? They had a night of glory and a final to look forward to, they believe they have turned the corner, I don't blame them for celebrating.

They will be celebrating this victory at least until we next beat them, probably long after.
Let the baby have its bottle, we know who are the best team in london, and that they are light years behind us.

The win for the spuds was a bright spark in a season that has been disappointing. Can't blame them for enjoying it, they probably know it might be another nine years before it happens again.

I’ve been waiting for this email since yesterday and congratulations for winning the beer competition. About Spurs being on the up again……it all seems like we’re going back to August 01 2007. Do you honestly think that this win automatically means that Spurs are a better team than Arsenal? What you are doing is to regurgitate the exact same nonsense came out with in August 07. Put our first team results against you into perspective & dare mention that again.

As for Arsenal being BAD losers LOL. Show me a good looser and I will show you a damn right loser…..fucking Totteringham. We hate losing, we are the ARSENAL……besides, which team do you know to handle losing well, apart from Totteringham, who are so used to losing regularly? Every winning team, in every sport hates to lose. As for magnanimity,……….. this was Tottenham!

The great news is that I won’t hear from you for another 9 years, but brace yourself for whats coming in between.

Well played, but I can't help thinking that your parents were cruel to name you "****"

Or are you on the run from Mugabe?[smilie=row1_2.gif]

Thats hilarious......I am not running away from that coward Robert Mugabe. He is a fucking nutter....excuse my French & so are the world leaders who are folding their hands while the coutry crumbles. Life expectancy has gome down to 37 for men & 33 for women, in a country which was only second to South Africa in terms of development some 15 years ago. Ok, we've got no OIL, but we recently discovered diamonds.......shouldn't that be enough for the West to remove Mugabe & usher in a "world friendly" regime!

5-0 in April 1983
Gasgoines free kick
Nayim from the half way line
5-1 last Tuesday.

4 things that they're making sure we haven't forgotton in my time of supporting Arsenal, one of them we won the league the same season and one of them the bloody player wasn't even playing for them...look at ours in comparison

Won the league at White Hart Lane more times than they have.
5-0 at the lane, brady look at that
one nill down two one up 1987
Donkey won the derby 1993
Charlie Nicholas on boxing day 1984
Bergkamp skidding across the turf in 1997
Kanus flick over Luke Young 1999
FA Cup semi, 1-0 down 2-1 up 2001
Laurens scuffed penelty 2002
5-4 in your cup final 2004
Getting the shits on the last day of the season 2006
The kids beating the **** 2007
This is the year where spurs break the top four and we fall out, cue 3-1 at the lane 2007

Remember those moments and feel proud and look at what Spurs have achieved over us and laugh!
