Summed up well.MegaGooner wrote:tbf, we looked a bit better in the second half. Manure played with 10 men behind the ball and hoofed it up to Granny-shagger all of the second half. Very anti-football from a top 4 side.
That said, AW needs to figure out a plan B 'cos any team that wants to beat us, just have to congest the midfield, force us wide and have our players try and cross a ball. Like that's ever gonna happen.
Also, Howard Webb is a crunt and his linesmen weren't much better tonight. I wouldn't have expected anything less at Old Shatford.and if Park tried to score that goal again, he'll miss 99 times out of a 100

Yeah, I know.....probably 3 years!![]()
Arshavin had a good opening 25 minutes and was shite after that until subbed with 15-20mins to go
Nasri showed maybe 5mins of football in 90+mins on the pitch
Rosicky total shite
Song worse that total shite
sagna and clichy see song
But yet here we all are picking out arshavin yet again as the cause of all our woe's
And I agree that after the 1st 20 minutes of the game AA was absolute shit but for me it is too easy for many fans on here to just latch onto the usual suspects when looking for fall guys instead of actually looking at all the players

You've hit the nail on the head mate.safcftm wrote:Must admit, I was surprised that Arsenal didn't give United more of a game. In the first few minutes United got a fair few free kicks and i was thinking "at least Arsenal are prepared to get stuck in today", but then they stopped. Clichy put in one of the worst left back performances that I have seen in a long time, Nasri was invisible all game (although to be fair to the lad he has been top class a fair few times recently so you'd expect someone else would be able to take over when he has an odd off day), Rosicky who I think is a great little player looked clumsy and uninterested, Song frustrated the hell out of me by never making himself available for the ball (often Arsenal had it between the half way line and uniteds box with no real option, Song should have asked for it as he would have freed up the man in possession and would have had a better angle to supply a pass), and Chamakh seems to have very little heart meaning that whilst he is a target, he isnt up to much if he actually needs to run for the ball
If I was a gooner, however, the sloppiness and poor decision making wouldn't worry me half as much as the apparent disinterest of nearly every player out there. After the initial flurry of challenges there were very few players who could honestly hold their hands up and say "I gave my all". Being top of the league should have been enough to fire them right up, to think "we havent been great this season but look where we are, come on lads lets fucking kick on and grab this fairly poor league by the fucking balls". There was none of that, not even from Fabregas when he came on and once again looked as if his heart, if not his head, was in Barcelona. And Walcott is not a fucking winger- the lad cant pass and cant cross- what he does have is a great turn of pace, quick feet and is a decent finisher, I hate this idea that if a lad is quick he should automatically be made a winger.
Was really frustrating watching that and I was a relative neutral. For me a lot of the blame has to lie with Wenger- his players don't seem to be responding to him and he had absolutely no plan b when plan a wasnt working. In fact, there was barely a plan a- get the ball, knock it about a bit and see what happens seemed to be the master plan. Trouble is, the league is so weak that Arsenal will comfortably stay 3rd or there abouts most of the season, so there wont be any pressure put on Wenger, but I think it is about time he seriously started looking at himself. If not with a view to resigning, at least with a view to ditching this "perfect football" project of his, and getting in some combative, nasty bastards who can get the job done in games like these

I wouldn't gp as far as out-fuicking-standing or close to that, but clearly Squillaci had to and could and should have done infinitely better on the goal and it wasn't the only bad fuck-up on his part, his clearances were consistently poor (though to be fair Koscieny wasn't Tonay Adams tonight either) and I believe he was the player who was easily caught out by Rooney on the cross Song nearly headed through his own goal to keep it from Rooney.augie wrote:I have backed sagna and clichy on here so many times over the past couple of seasons when they have been slated but after tonight no more.....they were fcuking shit but what is far more frustrating is the total lack of passion from the pair of them![]()
Song is what I always said he was.......somewhere between average and shite![]()
Chesney did ok and I thought that kos was out-fcuking-standing but the rest can go fcuk themselves![]()

BY THE WAY CAN I REQUEST THAT INSTEAD OF SEEKING TO START THREADS SLATING KOS PEOPLE MIGHT ACTUALLY LOOK AT HIS OLDER AND MORE EXPERIENCED PARTNER FIRST ?![]()
If Koscieny was fourth-choice and our first choice wasn't hurting I could be very happy with him, but with No Vermaelen to anchor the central defence and only Squillaci and Djourou as central defenders besied him it simply isn't close to good enough - period.

I know what you mean, the fastest AA ran tonight was run off the pitch when he was substitutedmarcengels wrote:because let's face it augie, he got so much of the ball, and thus his wastefulness is more in evidence. Be honest was anyone really surprised by our performance tonight? It fucking amazes me some deluded Gooners thought we could win
.When was the last time we won a "big game"? Mental strength you *word censored* Wenger
Ferguson once again pissed all over Wenger when it came to tactics. He dropped his top scorer and put Park and Anderson in the middle and they ran the game.We have now played the three other teams who finished in the top 4 last season and we have lost the lot.

I actually don't think Kos had a bad game tonight.
Nasri - After all the talk where were you? My only guess can be that he is carrying an injury because he just didn't seem to want the ball and certainly didn't get it! Such a shame after his recent performances
AA23 - Not just jumpong on the blame bandwagon but he really needs selling now, the only thing you used to def be able to rely on with him was that he was a big game player, perhaps because he thought the game worthy of him but another half hearted performance tonight and some terrible wasteful shooting (although nice to see a shot from a player outside the box
Schezny (spelling?) - Did very well I think in only his 3rd or 4th start for us, bit nervy to start with but that is understandable and some dodgy distribution but I felt safe with him apart from that
Song - how he didn't get booked in the first half I don't know, he only looked good for breaking up play by fouling, ould be nice to see him break it up by tackling, also wasted some good posession on the edge of the box
Rosicky - Usual very average performance I expect from him these days, think he tries but just not an outstanding performer anymore and lost his knack of shooting from range
Chamack - Don't blame him too much, didnt get much to work with but then again you don;t at OT, should have scored the rebound that came back to him
FAB4 - poor when he came on
Theo - Was never going to be able to do much with united defending deep
Overall I think we were very limp in the final third, we were so easy to defend against because United knew exactly what we were going to try and do and we didnt do it very well at all, they could just back off on the wings and congest the edge of the box and be absolutely fine, we'd have had to be at out absolute best to pass through that tight deep defence and we were no were near that and, as others have said, had no other ideas!
We never looked like scoring and simply were no better than a very average united side but nonetheless a well organised and more determind side which was more than enough. I think their goal was a bit fortunate but at that point they'd have 8 shots to our 2, that's the good thing with shooting, sometimes they go in even when they shouldnt = ask Gomes that. Would be nice if we tried shootin once in a while, especially when we are being given space on the edge of the box, hey it might even entice the defence out a little but if we really insist on trying to pass in behind them from the edge of the box!
Bottom line is we are not a better side than the worst united side for 5 years and had we spent in some key areas and tried some new ideas tactically in those 5 years we could have been streets ahead
