If you think back to the beginning of the season you will remember that we had a somewhat lacklustre start, a large factor in this was the fact that all our players were knackered, what we could have done with that season was a couple of more weeks rest so our players could return refreshed.
Now we mustn't get our hopes up too much but that may just happen for the beginning of next season. as you probably already know the F.A failed to enforce their own rules, and did not dock west ham 5 points for fielding ineligible players. Now it looks as though west ham will stay up and wigan will go down, but here it gets interesting, the wigan chairman is planning to sue the FA. if he were to take it to a judicial review and the jury found in favour of wigan then west ham could be docked 5 points and sent down instead.
The legal process can often take a long time and if this stuff is still unresolved by the beginning of next season the league would have to be postponed due to uncertainty over which side would play in it.
probably wont happen like that, but if it did a couple of weeks rest could make all the difference.
Could west ham/ wigan situation benefeit us next season?

If its delayed for too long how can most of the Premiership players compete in Euro 2008.
Unless there is a great effort to cram all those fixtures in, and no-one will benefit from that. And don't think that won't happen because it did to Canvey Island in the Ryman league in 2001, they had to play 14 games in 18 days.
I don't have anything against Wet Sham but if they broke the rules they shouldn't get away with it.
