As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
A common theme with Arsenal these days is we're so Jeckyll and Hyde. We could beat anyone on our day or we could struggle against West Brom. Notice how the days of beating the best are becoming and fewer and fewer though.

On the plus side we play at home first...which mean as soon as the team comes out we're still in the game at 0-0 on both the home score and overall aggregate.
Although, it will all be downhill (or uphill struggle depending on your perspective) from the moment of kick-off.
Back when we had our first real European runs post-Heysel in the cup winners' cup, it was all a bit of a novelty and a good test of our boys against overseas players. Even though we didn't have the most creative of teams, we would keep it tight and perhaps nick one from a set-piece. They was a chance against the bigger boys like Parma, PSG and Sampdoria. Now, we can't defend and have no tactical awareness, no stomach for the fight and as a result, no chance against the likes of Barca. I would love us to knock at Barcelona but there is no way at all that this will happen; they are better than us in every single area and over two legs, you don't get that one bit of decisive luck that might help you out in an FA cup tie.
This tie will be more of the same; some possession, perhaps a goal but a massive lesson in how to run a football team. I can't get excited and let's face it, if they couldn't even win the first round group, they won't come close to this lot.
