Captaincy - Should it still be Cesc ?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Cesc is a shit Captain and imo the quicker we offload him to Barca the better, however, who the fuck is a suitable successor? Tommy V makes RVP look indestructible so no point giving it to him. Basically we have a team of 11 sheep all looking for someone to lead them but alas they will be waiting a long time if Wenger stays in charge.

ie in GG's days, re Cesc's shennanegans in the summer, Mr Graham would have taken the captaincy off of him (ie like Citeh will do re Tevez, albeit slightly diff circumstances), but not AW!

I'm really NOT happy about him captaining us v Barca (if he's back for the games v them!) - can even see him scoring an own goal to fk us right off! (as AW wouldnt let him go!)

Vote here for TV to be captain as soon as he's back in the side! (Hopefully January)
own goal? :awnker:
Well it would be good if we had a natrual leader in my book, if fit TV would be my choice.

Cesc isn't very popular at the moment but he is our best player and was very inspirational and an excellent captain last season IMO and if he hadn't broken his leg we probably would have won the league. I hope he can just prove the doubters wrong. As for the ops comment, this is the guy who wanted to score the penalty against so much that he kicked it hard enough to break his leg and then stayed on the pitch even though he could barely walk.

I really don't understand how anyone can question his commitment On the field.

I was going to pull him up on that Percy, but thought that with him being an ultra rose-tinter, he probably genuinely believed it!!!

If only!!! We could be sitting here having 'won' trophies galore over the past 6 years, rather than being pot-less in that time. 8)

I think RVP would have made a mean skipper in the three matches he plays a season..
