here we go again,, wenger been left behind because he wont spend money even thou we are a rich club or so we are told,, we need to get some players in and i hate to be repeating myself but we will be left behind at some stage,, spurs have got themselfs a good player in woodgate and he is someone who would have suited us but no we sign a 15 year old instead,, building for the future is great but football is played now Image

Excellent buy when fit, couldn't get back into the Boro team at the moment but at last Spurs are addressing problem area's. Going to make things more interesting but the window isn't closed yet and we are joint top of the league with a second string that got to the semi finals of a cup.

I mentioned Mellberg a month ago as well:
Olof Mellberg is a realistic target. He is available for free in summer therefore he will be available for a cut price in January. He is a good defender and I think he wouldn’t mind being backup to Gallas and Toure in Arsenal. We’ll never buy a world-class centre-back who will be back-up so a consistent defender like Mellberg fits the bill. He hardly makes any mistakes, is very experienced and is better than Senderos and Djorou.

Looks like it won't happen, now. He is leaving for Juventus and if Wenger actually wanted him, he'd already make a move but he hasn't so he isn't interested.

It's funny that while nikman is dreaming of a strong line up for next season I am afraid that we will see cesc gone to one of spains big 2, diaby gone to get regular football in his preferred position, gallas gone in protest of no signings and departure of cesc, plus eboue will be gone to one of the massive clubs after him and it's only a matter of time before one of europes elite come knocking on our door with £100m for ade our priceless striker

I agree about Lescott, been watching Lescott this season and he looks quality..would give us a great advantage at set pieces too!

Don't hit the panic button over Cesc just yet, earlier in the week his main suitors at Real came out and said he would be an impossible signing. If we can finish of the second half as strongly as we've started and get in some silverware he'll have no reason to leave anyway. That boy be the future.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have 2 poisonous brothers acting as his agent, filling his head with idea's of fame and fortune though. He's a level headed young man with a lot of faith in Wenger. As long as we can prove we can still challange at the business end of the table, which currently we are, he'll be around for many a year.

Agreed on the brothers thing!

However as we all know, with our board money talks!

I'd be more than happy with Woodgate - he's available and we NEED a centre-back. Anyone that can head the ball will do - even if they come from the lower divisions. The fact is we need a stopper - he doesn't have to be a "footballer".
