As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

milan away

Post by gooner.ed »

i've a memory of the club requesting all kinds of personal details before the juventus game a coule of seasons back. i don't think the italian police bother to check photo ID out there at the turnstiles, but put me right.

club statement reads as follows...

At a recent site visit to Milan our delegation were informed that it is a legal requirement to carry photographic identification at all times during your stay in Italy. In addition no supporter will be allowed into the stadium without photo ID. The photo ID must correlate to the name on the ticket. The name, date of birth and seat details of all travelling supporters will be provided by Arsenal Football Club to AC Milan.
All match tickets have now been sold to our Platinum, Gold & Travel Club members; as a consequence our records currently show the membership details of the purchaser, which may not necessarily be the person travelling to Milan. We are aware that there are a number of members who either have season tickets registered in a company name or have more than one season ticket registered in their own name.

We have therefore, set up an on-line facility to change the personal details to the traveller who is attending this match. The deadline to change the name of the travelling supporter is Friday 1st February 2008 at 5pm, after this time we cannot change the name on the ticket under any circumstances.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

i have a friend of a friend who has bought tickets from another travel club member, what implications will this have on him, will he be able to get in the ground etc?

will the tickets be able to be put in another travel clubs members name who is going and not the TC members who bought them?

As stated. I remember them saying the same B4 the Juve game but name was written on ticket in pen and no check was done at ground. Don't worry

I don't see this as a problem. Arsenal's terms & conditions do allow you to resell away match tickets providing it's to someone you know and providing its not above face value.

Only potential problem may be if it turns out they are also looking for the membership number of the person actually attending the match and the person who's bought it isn't a member.

AFC1886. No one can be 100% sure about this but trust me lots and lots of people are in same boat as you. Try and think of it at turnstile 3000 gooners trying to get in to game and them checking every ticket against photo id  It could get very messy or just let us in in a safe steady speed in the normal way. As I said B4 they said the same B4 the Juve game and that was OK. But we honestly wont know till we get there. But I still havent seen anything from the club apart from this thread :?: But don't worry chill man 8) 8) 8)

there is always a first time, but experience says they don't bother. think about it from the view of the italian police. where is the best place to keep an eye on you? inside the stadium with all the other arsenal fans. they will just want you inside. so my instincts are that there should be no need for concern, as long as you stay out of trouble. don't turn up blind drunk and don't make a fuss about any body searches. chances are coins may be removed, and lighters from memory. so be prepared for that.
